@MrsPanda99:  we totally remember our dog’s birthday! we usually get her a special bone or treat and sing her happy birthday, but we don’t do much more than that. my FSIL went OVERBOARD for their dog’s first birthday – took him to a ‘doggie birthday party’ that she arranged at the dog park, went to get him ‘doggie ice cream’ at an ice cream shop, took pictures…it was just too much. i definitely thought, “man she has way too much time on her hands.”

@MrsPanda99:  Yep.  But I don’t force other people to celebrate my dog’s birthday.  His falls on Halloween (based on our calculations from the date we adopted him) so I take him to the annual Halloween charity dog walk as a treat for his birthday.  I dress him up and give him treats plus he loves all of the attention and petting he gets from strangers because they like his costume.  He went as Bat Dog a few years ago.

@MrsPanda99:  I’m terrible with birthdays 🙁

I rarely celebrate my own, except maybe with my immediate family. I think I know my dog’s birthday but I’m not 100% positive. Now I feel like a bad doggy mom.. womp womp.

Can I answer if I have cats  😀

We have three cats… all rescues. We don’t know Henry’s or Daisy’s birthday so we celebrate their “gotcha” day… no cakes or anything just an acknowledgement.

With our cat, Seven… we do know her birthday as it was on her paperwork… I assume by the person who surrendered her. Again, no celebration… just an acknowledgement.

I certainly do! May 25th and December 3rd. We always do something special for them on their day, lol. Even their grandma (my mom) acknowledges their birthdays, haha.

@MrsPanda99:  well, my family dog shares a birthday with FI…so I definitely won’t forget that! FI and I don’t have any dogs of our own, but I do remember my kitties birthdays! We like to give them a special treat on their birthdays 🙂

I’m like you…I think birthdays are fabulous!

I usually remember when we adopt our pets, but not when they’re born.  I do remember our current dog’s birthday because of an inside joke about a mark that she had as a puppy.  She used to have a dark patch of fur that looked exactly like the Apple logo.  She was a shelter pup so we don’t know her true birthday, but she would have been born around the time when Steve Jobs died.  Our friends joke that she was the reincarnation of Steve Jobs.  Here’s a pic of the spot.  The patch has since grown out so perhaps that wasn’t her destiny after all.

Yep! Flynn just celebrated his 1st birthday on April 1st.  He got doggy ice cream, but that was it.  In all honesty, having his birthday on April Fool’s Day makes it pretty easy to remember.  I don’t know my childhood dog’s or my sister’s dog’s birthdays though.  I think it’s sweet you remember them all!

I thought my little girl’s bday was April 9th, but we took her to the vet the other day and this guy said she is probably 6 months old cuz of her teeth. That makes me happy cuz then her bday is 1 day before mine 🙂

@MrsPanda99:  You are a nut bar! But a very thoughtful one!

I don’t remember dogs’ birthdays besides my own and my friend’s dog, who get a party thrown for him every year. He turned 14 this year, so that clearly requires a BBQ and sangria party with Winnie the Pooh dog costumes and doggie cupcakes.

 Another cat person here, and we totally celebrate our cats birthdays…

This was the 15th of June this year when my little baby turned 1! Then our big cat turned 4 on the 6th of August this year, and DH was sitting in Paris sighing because we couldn’t be home in Canada and celebrate with him… So, @MrsPanda99: you might be silly – but you’re not alone! 🙂
