    Yes. Word for word.

No. I was in total shock.

Bits and pieces. I was shocked.

No. I was too busy staring at the ring (OLST syndrome Oh Look! Shiny Thing!)

I do remember what he said, but it was nothing to write home about, lol.

I remember nothing. I was so shocked and completely blacked out. He stood there on one knee for about 6 minutes while I hyperventilated. Then through the tears I was like, “Well, you have to say it!” and he was like, “I did!” He asked the important question again and I still don’t remember it. I’m the worst. I so wanted it to be this classy moment but it was all snot and ugly crying haha.

I remember something about he didn’t know why our friend was recording right now or why our other friend was crying. Ha! And I remember the way he said will you marry me with the emphasis on will.

He hinted around a few times first.

The first thing was one night at a bar.  He lifted me onto a bar stool, stood in front of me and said, “So. How do you like the sound of your first name with my last name?”  I said, “Is this a proposal,” and he said, “Not officially.”

The next hint, a few months later, was asking what style of diamond engagement rings I liked.  I freaked completely out.

The actual real proposal was I was sitting at our table opening mail in my pj’s.  He walked in the house from having picked up my ring at the jeweler’s (being sized). He got on one knee, I screeched, he opened the little box, handed me the ring and said, “Will you marry me?”

Even though we’ve been married for over three years he still asks me to marry him at least once a week.  🙂

My proposal was up on the jumbo-tron at a baseball game and I started crying as I read it. When I turned to him, he was holding the box in his hand. I later told him that he never officially asked me himself but he told me it still counted since he made me cry and I put on the ring

grits75: I remember what he said, word for word, because he wrote me a letter and had me read it on our 5th anniversary. By the time I had finished the letter I was crying and he was down on one knee with a box in his left hand and his right hand on mine. He told me that I was his favorite person in existence and that he appreciated the life we had made together. He appreciated my patience, my support, my love and my friendship. He told me that we both already knew we didn’t want to live without each other and that he has been waiting for the right moment to ask me to be his bride for over five years. He told me I was the most beautiful woman in the entire world and that life with me has been a dream come true. He told me becoming his wife would be the best gift I could ever give him and then said my full name and “Will you marry me?”

I said YES! We both broke down in tears and he slipped the ring on my finger.

It was beautiful. We were eating at Victoria & Albert’s at the Grand Floridian Hotel in Walt Disney World. They made a big production out of it with a “SHE SAID YES” dessert, clapping, a private dining room and tons of candles. He had planned it all out.

    It was perfect.

My proposal was similar to the lady above me where he wrote me a letter. My Fiance had written the letter months earlier when he said he knew he wanted to marry me. He kept it hidden inside the back of a picture of us which he dragged 4000kms to the place he proposed. I read the letter which ended with will you be my forever and then he got on his knee with the ring and asked if I’d marry him.

It is nice to have the letter to read again since I thought it might be a proposal and originally sped through reading it to get to the ending.

Not really –  I remember he used my full name, which was a surprise because I go by shorter version almost 100% of the time and he barely uses that (he has a really weird habit of not really addressing people by name at all unless he needs to get their attention).

I remember my response slightly better, but it really is all a blur.

Not even a little bit. I totally spaced out and froze. He could have called me George and I’ll never know.

I don’t know if he even got to ask. The second I saw him down on one knee with a ring I am pretty sure I just shoved his  face into my boobs and started laughing and crying at the same time and saying “YES OF COURSE!” lol poor guy, I don’t think he got to say a word. And it all happened very fast neither of us remember it much.

LadyBear:  haha my Fiance too. I think I have heard him say my name like 4 times in two years. haha Often times he just calls me “The lady” as in “Hey man, the lady and I were thinking about going out to grab some dinner, want to meet up?” Or “The lady and I are just staying in tonight and watching tv, maybe some other time” lol I just realized it’s a little weird but whatever. Our cats are named Lumos, Nox, And Helena but we only ever call them, Little miss puffy face, Man Cat, and littlest grey…. so go figure. lol

    It went something like this:

    Him: “Let’s get married.”

    Me: “Ok, when?”

    Him: “I don’t know, soon.”

Me: “Like before summer?” (This conversation was October 2014)

    Him: “Sure.”

Me: “How about spring break?” (He’s a teacher)

    Him: “Ok.”

Me: “Guess we should start planning now.”

We ordered the ring the next day 🙂 Both of us would have been embarrassed by a big proposal.
