    Yes. Word for word.

No. I was in total shock.

Bits and pieces. I was shocked.

No. I was too busy staring at the ring (OLST syndrome Oh Look! Shiny Thing!)

I remember all of it because he kept it short and sweet. The proposal consisted of “Will you marry me?” Prior to that we were just hanging out on a picnic lunch, and I was feeling pretty calm since I sort of anticipated that it would be sometime during that trip.

I can’t really answer this poll because we didn’t have a traditional “proposal”. We had a discussion that led to a mutual desire to get married by a specific date and we started looking at rings (for both of us) and making plans.

When he officially proposed, we were sitting on a rock wall at the beach and the exchange went something like this:

Him: Have I ever told you how much I love you?
Me: You’ve mentioned it a few times.
Him: Just a few? Well then… *gets down on one knee, takes ring out of his pocket* I guess now’s a good time to fix that.

He was incredibly nervous even though we’d been together for 5 years so he babbled a bit but it was essential something along the lines of “I had this huge speech planned out but now I can’t think straight because I love you so much and wanted to know if you’d make me happy forever and be my wife”. I teased him that I wanted to know what the huge speech was afterwards but I never found out lol.

I knew it was coming but the day my ring came in, it went like this.

Him: Here you go (handing me the box)

Me: Well, aren’t you going to get down on your knee?

He gets down on his knee and asks, “Will you marry me?”  So unromantic but totally us.

He planned a very elaborate proposal (which is so unlike him) so I was very surprised (I only caught on at the very end). He also had apparently been planning it for a year. In short, he had a number of things that we did throughout the day that were all interrelated. They all were things we had done for our first date, fun places we always liked to go, we also went and got haircuts together (unbeknowst to me at the time, that was for the pictures… but we both desperately needed it), and so forth. However, these are things we do all the time, so I didn’t think it was anything out of the ordinary.

We live near a peir and we went walking to supposedly meet up with a friend, and at the end of the peir he said “hey look at that” and pointed down, and there was a brick with “will you marry me?” and it had my name. Then he got down on one knee and gave me my great-grandmother’s ring. I was very surprised but said yes (and we both cried), and then people started clapping, and I realized it was all our friends and family nearby who were watching from a slight distance. I hadn’t even seen them. Even our parents came and they both live really far away. It was a very happy day.

I couldn’t answer the poll because none of the choices were relevant. I can’t remember anything about the proposal, let alone what he actually said. I don’t even know if I said yes but I have a ring so I guess I did!

I was too sick and ended up in hospital.

“You’re my best friend, and I love you so much. Will you be my wife?” Perfect and straight to the point. He also says he had something completely different planned out, and when it came time to propose at the end of the night, this “just felt right.”

    *swoon*

We had been out for dinner for my birthday and when we got home he got me to wait in the bedroom for a few mins, and when I came out he said something like ‘I’m sorry to keep you waiting in there, and sorry to keep you waiting for this…’ and went down on one knee. Can’t remember if he said anything else between that and ‘will you marry me?’ but it was lovely

I was super shocked too but I remember him saying “Let’s do this!” Hahaha. technically he didn’t actually ask me but I was like “YES!” Later we both realized he hadn’t asked and then he “asked” me while we were on the subway going home, which was pretty funny.

    Haha…I remembered word for word…

*Gets down on one knee* “um…well we’ve been together for 5 years and I’m really not good with this and I don’t know what to say. I want to spend the rest of my life with you and I have one question to ask you…will you marry me?”

    I guess I have good memory? Lol…

he was very quiet as we walked on the beach, I squeezed his hand to try and calm him down: I knew what was coming.  Finally he turned, looked at me, and said “willyoumarryme?” I don’t remember if he got down on one knee, but I don’t think he did.  He said it so fast that my response was actually “pardon?” even though I knew what he was saying (since I expected it) that was just my knee jerk response.  He took a deep breath and asked “Will you marry me?”

I remember my Fiance saying, while down on one knee, “*something something, blah blah something*, it wont be the best day of my life if I didn’t ask you this million dollar question. I want to spend the rest of my life with you and I want you to be my wife. So will you marry me?” Yeah….something like that haha. I honestly don’t remember. I was in shock. He wasnt even nervous. He just said it with confidence, which I wish I had instead of me shaking widely from nervousness and overwhelmed with shock. I smile every time I think about it though. He’s so totally dreamy in his own dorky, corny way 💙
