(Closed) Do you remove your ring often, or never take it off? Or somewhere in between?

Rarely, only if it's being cleaned of for an activity where it could be damaged

Often, when I put lotion on, sleep, shower, clean, etc

    Obligatory other :)

Wow, I’m starting to feel like a terrible fiancee having read all the responses! I take my ring off (along with any other jewellery) as soon as I walk through the door. I don’t wear it if I’m not leaving the house, or if I’m going to the gym. I take it off to put on hand lotion, but I keep it on when washing my hands outside of the house (I’m too paranoid about it going down the drain).

I take mine off to have a bath/shower and I put it on the window ledge until I’m done.

I also take it off sometimes when I’m at home and not doing anything – I have an annoying tiny bit of dry skin on my middle finger which comes and goes, so I sometimes take it off at home to stop it irritating that. Right now I have my ring on my right hand, which I sometimes do for some reason – only when indoors though.

I don’t have a place I put it, but I always remember where I’ve left it. I don’t take it off to sleep, but I do sleep without it if i’ve taken it off in the evening.

When I’m studying – typing notes, etc – I take off my rings, my watch and my bracelet – I’m not sure why but it makes me feel more focussed.

*phew* this is a complicated question!

Dirty jewellry is gross, I dont get people who think that keeping a ring in forever is hygenic.

Dirt and dead skin and bacteria get into the nooks and crannies. You have to take it off and clean it.

I feel sick just thinking about it. Ick.

I only really wear my rings when i leave the house, my hubby does the same – we’re not ring people i guess so feel more comfy without them on

I take mine off when I sleep, shower, wash dishes, etc. I always wear it when I leave the house, though. I keep it in the ring box when I’m not wearing it.

@MrsBlah:  you said… This Time Round:  I’d love to see a photo!

    Ask… and you shall receive…

PHOTO – Taken on our Wedding Day, I’m wearing both my WBands in this photo.  As I said, with 3 rings I can mix it up.  So sometimes 1, 2 or 3.  (Sometimes I wear the two WBands, the Sparkly one subbing for my ERing… just depends on the sitution and WHERE we are in the world etc).  Just my Plain WBand ALONE if I am doing stuff that wouldn’t be “diamond friendly”

I take mine off to workout (I weight-lift so I’m worried about it getting scratched up) and to clean/shower/cook to avoid damage/it coming off..  Other than that it stays on including when I sleep 🙂 When I get it resized I’ll probably remove it less, it’s a bit loose right now.

i used to take mine off, everyday once i get home. eventually i just started to forget wearing it to work, and only wearing my wedding band. the other reason i take it off to sleep is because DH is scared that i might scratch him or dig it into his arm lol..

now wear it 24/7 unless i am cleaning it or putting on lotion.

the only time I take them off is to clean them, or if I’m using bleach (and in that case I drop them in a cleaner while they’re not on my finger).

Ive said it on here before, but I’d rather pay to have it cleaned or repaired than lose it altogether. the safest place for your rings are on your fingers!

rarely…only to clean it or if I am switching wedding bands. I have a bliny one and a plain one. Other than that, it never comes off my finer.
