I take mine off every single time I apply lotion. I don’t like how greasy it becomes when lotion gets on it.

@engagedsagebrush:  I work at a store that sells body care, so lotion. I used to take my ring off to give demos, but now I don’t, too time consuming hehe. I just let My ring soak in warm water and dish soap while I brush my teeth. It’s been working so far!

I always take my rings off to put on lotion.  They get so dirty if I don’t.  I like to use glysomed, it’s kind of pricy but it feels so good.

@taylorkirby:  Everytime I see your ring I swoon! SO beautiful!

I take my rings off whenever I put on lotion. My stone sits up pretty high and I hate getting it all smeary.

My e-ring is a plain band solitaire, so I just spin it upside down when putting lotion on the top of that hand.

I used to take it off, but one time I left it behind by accident!  Won’t be repeating that mistake again, hopefully.

But now I have the same lotion concerns when I get my eternity wedding band.  I’m obsessed with clean rings!

I don’t take my ring off. I actually just put hand sanitizer and lotion on, and then snapped these photos. Ring is still sparkly, and same with the pave on the prongs! What I do is slather lotion on my two palms, then use each hand to rub lotion on the other. For my ring finger, I gently nudge my ring up to moisturize underneath, and then move my ring down away from my knuckle again. I never take it off or over the knuckle so as to reduce any chance of losing it.

I live in Canada and winter has almost started. Considering how often I use hand cream, taking my ring off each time would surely end in it being lost/misplaced!

My ring has a lot of detailing (milgrain, swirly, things nooks and crannies) so I prefer to take it off when applying lotion or washing my hands. My ring comes on and off easily though, so it isn’t a big deal for me.

If you’re comfortable wearing your ring when applying lotion then I don’t see the problem!

@engagedsagebrush:  yep, I take my rings off to put on lotion like 10,000 times a day. it might sound weird, but in some situations I only wash my fingertips and then I don’t feel like I need to moisturize.

I’ve also become used to not putting on lotion — for example right before dinner — if I know I’m going to be washing my hands again soon after I’m done.

btw: I had my rings sized up so they’re comfortable and easy to take off. they’re soldered together to deal with the spinning. since I want to take my rings off so often, this was the best decision I made.

Okay, so I’ve only had my ring since Saturday…but I have been and plan to continue to take it off when I apply lotion.

I am a Preschool Teacher and wash my hands about 100 times a day(maybe more!)

Best lotions I have found are Aveeno Intensive Relief and Lubriderm Advanced.  It lasts through a couple of washings, too.

I take off my ring to put on lotion if I’m in my office (I don’t wear my ring at home).  If I’m anywhere else – especially in public – I just try to put on lotion around my ring.

I take mine off whenever I use lotion or hand sanitizer. Sometimes its a little hard to get over my knuckle so I run my hand under cold water to “shrink” my finger a bit.

I must be in the minority because I do not take my rings off to put on lotion. In fact, I never take my rings off for anything except to clean them, which is about once every one or two months. My ring is still very sparkly!

I would take it off for lotion. If it hurts to take it off, consider getting it sized a bit bigger, and using a ring sizer insert (the springy kind). It would likely be more comfortable!
