I only do if the bathroom is close to where everyone else is. Awkward moment.. my friend is also getting married and I went with her (and like 5 others!) to go dress shopping. There was that large area, with mirrors and couches, for everyone to watch the bride. Well, they had TWO brides there and like 10 people in this area. And guess where the bathroom was?! Right in the front, on the left!! It was SUPER awkward.

I always used to (I can’t pee if someone might have the tiniest chance of hearing me), but we recently moved into this house and the toilet has its own separate room thing. So now I can’t really run the water as it’d be totally pointless, that room echoes like no other. It really bothered me the first couple weeks living here. I miss having a sink near my toilet 🙁

Only if I’m pooping and only if someone else could possibly hear (with the exception of Fiance…I have commited obscene acts while we were both in the bathroom, smh).

Why would you run water? Everyone pees. Are you self conscious about how frequently or how much? Because I’m pretty sure everyone pees and it sounds the same every time.

No, I don’t run the water. But I remember in high school a lot of girls would turn on the water in one of the sinks before peeing. It was normal to walk in and just have the sink running. And if it wasn’t some girl would usually be like “oh my god the water isn’t on I can’t pee!”.

Nope! I care about wasting the water more than I care about people hearing me go to the bathrooom

Oh my gooooooooosh. I wish my SO could see this. I do this ALL THE TIME. Even when I am home alone. He makes fun of me and tells everyone I’m a ” nervous peer”. It’s something that I have always done and will always do and I catch so much for it!

No, its so wasteful. Everyone pees, I don’t know why anyone would feel so embaressed by it, that they would need to waste water like that.

I had never even heard of this being a thing. Sounds like my water bill would be really high.

For the record, my FI even runs the water when he goes to poo (when I’m within hearing distance).  So yes, I do the same.  We both grew up from very conservative households.. But apparently not conservative with water. Ha!
