@HeyKaraoke: That sounds exactly like something my Fiance would do to me! Jerks LOL 😛
At first I would take mine off to shower in places with an open drain because I thought it would come off. Once I realized I have huge knuckles so theres no chance of that I stopped. Now I only take it off when puttling on lotion or washing dishes.

I dont simply because I don’t like when my ring gets stuck in my wet hair 🙁

I take my ring off before showering because I’m paranoid that the stone will become loose and go down the drain.

@dsanchez: haha ah, okay. That’s understandable then ^_^

I contemplated this for awhile too and in the beginning I’d take it on and off as others have mentioned. But then there’d be occasions where I’d forget to put it back on (i’m very forgetful) when I went out and etc. So I decided to just keep it on all the time and I don’t worry about it!

You should always take your ring off when you shower, do yard work, or go to the gym. I work at a jewelry store and my jewelers compare wearing your ring in the shower to showering with your clothes on… it just make them gross.

i dont take mine off at all. its an antique ring so i figure if its lasted almost a hundred years and still looks this good, it can survive me wearing it all the time!
all the wise old ladies in my life keep telling me ‘the safest place for it is on your finger’ and they’re so right, I’d much rather take it in for repairs or cleaning than have to replace a lost engagement ring. Also, with jewellery i wear all the time, i notice the minute it’s missing. if i was used to taking it on and off, I’d forget to put it back on, not notice that i wasnt wearing it for awhile, then forget where i last had it.

I take mine off for showering and sleeping. I’m scared of losing it down the drain or in my sleep!

I take mine off when in the shower/doing dishes because I find that after the friction between my ring and my finger because of the water caused a slight irritation. Same with sleeping because my fingers swell up. But I keep it nice and safe in my ring box 🙂

Sometimes, I do, sometimes I don’t. Just depends how I’m feeling!

Wedding band yes, solitaire no. I don’t want to get soap scum under the diamond but also I’m afraid of losing my diamond down the drain.
