when you attend a wedding as a guest, do you take the time to sign the guestbook? Do you prepare something meaningful before the wedding, or think of what to write as a more spur-of-the-moment thing? Does what you write or if you sign depend on the type of guestbook?
I haven’t attended many weddings yet – only one had a guestbook, or rather “wish tree”. I didn’t expect to have to write something meaningful, so I felt stressed to come up with something. Maybe it’s just because I’m new to the game… but I wouldn’t want any guest to feel pressured at my wedding. So I’m reaching out to learn more!

I always sign, but usually have to think of what to write. Sometimes there’s just space to sign your name and where you’re from. It never occurred to me to come prepared with something to write, I’ll probably do that from now on if I can remember!

I always sign and, while I don’t plan anything in advance, I don’t find it difficult to think of something nice to write.
That said – I would probably be less likely to complete a guest book if it is one of those ones with a whole page of info to fill in with drawings and multiple questions, etc. I want to spend time dancing and talking and laughing with friends, not completing a questionaire. I haven’t been to a wedding with one of this type yet, but I have seen them online.

I also sign but also struggle with what to write other than congrats and my name. i saw this guest book tree on etsy and really liked it. It will actually serve as a piece of artwork when done and all the guest have to do it write their name. Pretty cool.

I sign if I happen to see the guestbook. But I never search for it. And if there is a line… I don’t sign it. I’m not standing in line to sign a book that just has my name in it and a lame “congratulations” or “best wishes” note. If it’s something cool like a plate, or a guest tree then I will sign it every time 🙂

I always sign the guestbook. If there’s a spot for me to write something I will but I’ll also just sign mine & Darling Husband name if that’s all there’s space for.
