I’m afraid to do it because it’s so regular (like to-the-minute regular) that I don’t want to screw it up. I also like getting it because then I know I’m not pregnant! I just wish I didn’t get it in the middle of the week. SO was away all weekend, and now that he’s back, tada, I’m closed for maintenance. ๐Ÿ™

Nah, whenever I try to skip the placebo pills, my body fights it with a vengeance and I end up with basically a month-long period thanks to constant spotting. I’ve got it timed pretty perfectly though, so that I get my periods Monday-Thursday – weekends are always period free. Yay science!

Haha when I go to the gyno, they always “ask date of last menstrual period” and I say “I don’t know.” And they’re like, “well, can you give me a ballpark?”  And I respond “ummm, maybe … fall of 2011?”

No side effects for me. I’m getting off the pill soon to take a year getting my body back in order before TTC though, so I’ll have to get back to you on longer-term side effects, haha.

@OneOfTheseDaysAlice:  mine is very regular when i take the sugar pills, nothing to worry about but i certainly understand wanting to have it to make sure you aren’t pregnant! i think i will take my sugar pills every month or two now just in case ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m on Seasonique so it basically skips it for me. 4 periods a year is awesome.

No, it scares me to mess with my body that much.

I take a generic of the BCP, Lybrel.  It’s 28 continuous pills in the pack, so no period.  I love it!  I was on Lybrel for years & have never had a problem.  I only switched to the generic (hesitantly) a few months ago because it was about $30 a month cheaper with my prescription plan.  I haven’t had any issues with the generic (Amethyst) as of yet (knock on wood).

I can’t remember the last time I actually had a period. I take Ortho-novum and just take theactive pills.  every so often I’ll spot for a couple days but it’s never a full blown period. My GYN assures me that there is no medical reason why I have to have a period every month. In fact, I’m anemic and it just makes me feel worse, so all the more reason to skip it.

I skip half of them using two Nuva Rings in a row. I like the not pregnant reminder, but I hate the disgusting ickyness of it. I’d skip more but I tend to have breakthrough bleeding if I do.
