I am just curious where everyone stands on this. I sleep in my ring sometimes when I fall asleep before remembering to take it off. And I shower in my ring every once in a while too and that’s probably not a good idea…? Anyone like me?

I do neither. I take my rings and all jewelry off in the house.

I dont take my rings off for sleeping or showering., cooking or cleaning. They dont come off unless im doing some very dirty work, which is very rarely.

I have ring plates in the bathrooms and bedroom. I never sleep, wash, wash my hands or shower with my rings on.

Sleep but not shower! My setting would get all kinds of soap scum it if I showered with it

I leave them on when sleeping, but take them off to shower.
I don’t take them off to wash my hands though. I’m worried I might lose it down the sink at work.

I take all jewlery off as soon as I get home just to be more comfortable. I can’t sleep in it because my hands swell some at night and it’s uncomfortable.

Genuine question, why do people take them off to sleep?
I kind of understand showering, although I think it’s a bit OTT as good quality jewellery should definitely be able to go in the shower and be cleaned regularly. I only ever take mine off if I’m doing heavy work, which is hardly ever. I would rather clean it more than risk losing it.

I don’t take mine off for anything.

My jeweler said that my ring is strong enough to even shower with it on. So not I only take it off when using cleaning chemicals, going to the gym to lift weights and cooking with raw meat. I sleep with it on. My sister only takes here off when making meatloaf. She hikes, sleeps, workouts, cleans, gardens, etc with it on.

I’d be glad to share my reasons! 🙂 I personally don’t sleep with my ring on for two reasons: One, I have a history of scratching at my face and chest when I have nightmares and wearing a ring with prongs and a hard stone seems like an invitation to do even more damage! Haha
The other reason is fear of damage to my ring. I guess you can blame my hairdresser for that! She slept with her engagement ring on and during the night, it caught on something and pulled a prong loose. When she woke up in the morning, her diamond was gone and it took her the whole rest of the day to tear apart her bed until she found it. That story kind of scared me into a fear of something similar happening (or, at the very least, weakening the prongs by catching them on the bedspread or something!)
I’m sure I’m overly cautious, but I feel better safe than sorry on both counts (risk of both hurting the ring and hurting MYSELF haha)

My habit is to leave rings in my Mrs Box when I sleep and shower.
Part of the problem is that they’re loose now (winter) so I’m paranoid in the shower. As for sleep, my ering has lots of intricate details/pave so it’s best to not damage it.

I don’t do either, the showering one because I don’t like to get lots of product on my rings, and the sleeping one because I find the raised setting uncomfortable against the bedding/pillows/body pillow etc.
I have fixed places I put my jewellery when I take it off (I have a ring holder by my bed, in the kitchen, and a jewellery dish in the bathroom for taking out earrings etc too).
My husband keeps his ring on all the time unless he’s doing something particularly dirty, but he just has a plain band

When I was engaged, I’d wear my engagement ring all the time except working out at the gym, shower, and sleep. After getting married, I only wear my engagement ring on special occasions, but never take my wedding ring off.

I used to do both with my promise ring, and it was fine. I now don’t with my engagement ring because the stone is larger and shows water marks and smudges.
