I am just curious about others. Do you ladies sleep with your engagement ring on? I usually don’t unless I fall asleep with it on. I was told it is bad on the ring cause it can get caught on sheets, blankets, clothes, pillowcases etc… during the night and in return bend prongs or loosen the stone(s). What is your opinion on the subject?

@ChefDori: same as you, also it scratches Fiance

I usually take off my ring when I get home. So no, I don’t sleep with it on…or cook, shower, etc.

I dont have my e-ring yet, but I don’t sleep in any jewelry. I have 14 ear piercings, and I always wear a specific necklace, and usually two rings. So it takes a while lol. But I hate sleeping in them. I probably will take my ering off as well. Im so used to taking all my stuff on and off that it’s not that big of a deal to my anymore. just part of my routine.

I NEVER take it off, except to clean it… and that’s only for 3 minutes in my ultrasonic maybe twice a year and then it’s straight back on. I scratched Fiance a few times with it early on, but after 6 years, it doesn’t get in the way at all.
As a point of reference I have a .3 ct solitaire set with 6 prongs. The ring has bent to the shape of my finger being 18k white gold, but it’s noticable unless I take my ring off and look at it closely.

I never take mine off either because I always forget to put it on when I leave the house 🙁

I never take mine off except maybe to do household cleaning, washing my hair and gardening, had it nearly 8 months, 0.61carat, six prongs, no problems 🙂

I only wear my ring when I;m going out and not going to be doing any physical work, or I’m at home relaxing and not getting dirty. I’m very protective of her 😛

No. It’s a solitaire so it scratches at night. I just wear my wedding band around the house.

I never wear mine to bed. I just want to preserve the life of my ring without extra bills to fix broken prongs and such.

Only if I lay down for a nap or fall asleep ASAP after having a bit to drink but I usually wake up and take it off because my fingers swell at night sometimes and it gets uncomfortable. Plus I don’t want to scratch myself or Fiance with the silly thing….
I have a cute little ring holder on my night stand… it does the trick to keep it from getting knocked off my the menacing cat…

Nope. Too afraid of snagging the prongs and/or scratching myself/DH, even with a relatively low setting,

Yep, getting ready to go to sleep with it now!

In the beginning I always took it off. But then I got used to leaving it on and would forget about it. Have faith it’ll stay intact for years to come!

No. I take my ring off pretty much as soon as I get home for the day. I only wear it out or when we have people over. Mostly because when I am actually home I’m either cleaning, cooking, doing something with my hands, etc.
