bridetobe2018 : I used to always sleep with them on. I just recently started taking them off when my hands feel swollen (I put some weight on😳). I usually take them off when showering and going to the gym, and when I ride my bike. that’s pretty much it.

I never take my ring off except for to clean under the setting. It doesn’t cause any issues because it’s very low set. One of my specifications when looking for an ering was that I wanted something I wouldn’t need to take off. I clean it with a soft toothbrush and hand soap right on my finger as part of my morning routine so hand cream and such don’t build up on it.

I’m def one to baby pretty much all of my jewelry. I take all of it off & put it in my jewelry armoire as soon as I get home from work. Needless to say, my e-ring is taken off when showering, sleeping etc.

I do sleep in mine. When I first got it, I tried sleeping without it but I’d wake myself up feeling for it & not finding it and having a minor freak out in my sleep. I do take it off to shower, wash my hands, put on lotion, & working out.

bridetobe2018 : the only time I take it off is gym/hiking. I sleep and shower with it on. Mine is a platinum shanked sapphire with a shared prong halo, fwiw

I don’t wear mine to the gym. I forgot to take it off before I went one time and it pressed deeply into my skin when I did weights and was really uncomfortable.
I don’t wear it when I shower or sleep either. Wearing it while showering seems like a good way to build up soap scum, and while sleeping it’s just for comfort.
My Maid/Matron of Honor gave me a little crystal ring holder when I got engaged and I keep it on my bedside table. That’s where my ring is when it’s not on my finger.

I do everything in mine: sleep, cook, swim, shower, etc. I definitely wanted a ring I wouldn’t have to take off, and I’d rather it get a bit dirty and have to clean it occasionally than lose it… When I take it off, I’m panicked that something is gonig to happen to it. My mom lost her original ering and so adviced me to not take it off if I can help it. Much better that it stays on my finger.

I rarely take mine off. The only time they come off is when I’m using my hands while making meatballs, hamburgers, etc and when I’m giving my rings a deep cleaning. I always sleep in them, always shower with them, as well as work out with them on. I have a thin pave solitaire and matching pave band, they’ve held up fine through all of this so far.

I sleep in it. I take it off to shower, work out and when I clean.

I wouldn’t go to sleep with them on. I’ll take them off unless it’s the set of sapphires on sterling silver which I wear when I’m in the house (housework, bathing babies, poopy diapers…)

I never take mine off. <3

I never wear my rings to bed. I take off my e-ring once I get home. I leave on my two wedding bands (one on each hand) until bed. They come off at bed or if I’m using my hand to mix food. I put in bands back on right after I shower and dress, and my ering on once I’m ready to leave for the day.
My grandmother was a jeweler and said that wearing rings to bed was a great way to keep her in business. Rings worn to bed are exposed to stray thread that yank on prongs, headboards that scratch and dent, wear off white gold faster, wear off milgrain and details more quickly, etc. She replaced countless diamonds and gems that were lost in beds.
She also advised removing them when putting on skin stuff (hand lotion, sunscreen), cosmetics/hairsprays, swimming/soaking in salt or chlorine and cleaning the house.

geegee31 : This is my routine as well. All jewelry, including e-ring, comes off when I get home from work and gets put away in its proper place. If I go back out I will put my ring back on. I don’t exercise, shower, sleep, cook, or clean with my ring on.
Since I received the ring (going on 5 months) I have forgotten it twice. Once I went back home for it (was going out for the day with Dear Fiance and wanted it on – was only about 5 mins away so it wasn’t an inconvenience) and the other time was a lazy Sunday and I was running a few errands and realized when I got down the street in my car. I didn’t bother going back (but it did annoy me).
Dear Fiance has made a half joking comment about how I never wear it (obviously not true since I always wear it to work and out of the house). I am not sure if it really bothers him, but I doubt it does. I think he just wanted to tease me.
I have asked him if he will always wear his wedding band once we are married (we haven’t even bought it yet, but have gone looking, so I know what style he plans to get). He said he isn’t sure yet, but thinks he probably will always keep it on. Truth is that it really wouldn’t bother me if he didn’t wear it to work (it could potentially get hurt there) or puttering around home doing yard work or whatnot, so long as he wanted to wear it when we went out.

I only take my e-ring off for cleaning. It’s hardy!

I always leave mine on. My mom told me not to get in the habit of taking it off, for fear I may lose it-better to always have it on your finger. If I’m using bleach while cleaning, I take it off, or if I’m painting or doing any crafting that can harm my ring in any way, I’ll take it off. I usually take it off if I’m using sunscreen and going to the beach as well-those are the only times! I sleep in it, shower in it, do dishes, cook. Diamonds are durable.
