Darling Husband and I have been married for almost five months. Tomorrow would have marked our five year dating anniversary.
We are going to a baseball game because that’s what we do on that day five years ago, but I wasn’t planning on buying a gift/card cause we have another anniversary to celebrate now 🙂
What about you? Do you still celebrate your dating anniversary after marriage? Did you continue to celebrate for a few years or just the first year or two to transition to your wedding anniversary?

Yes, we sort of celebrate. We do a triple celebration though (my birthday, valentine’s day and our dating anniversary which are very close). We just had our 5 year dating anniversary as well. Congrats!

Nope, never celebrated it to begin with.

No, but on our first dating anniversary we’d already been married for two months, so we had something new to celebrate!

+1. We didn’t either. We were engaged five months after our first date (seven months after we had been matched online), so it never really was an occasion that we celebrated.

Yes, but it has been scaled back since we got married. We don’t go out any more for a fancy dinner on the dating anniversary.

We’ve been dating 6 years and have never celebrated an anniversary, thats one thing i’m looking forward to about getting married!

no, never celebrated in the first place. And we dated for 5 years before getting married.

I acknowledge it but we don’t do anything special.

We never really celebrated it to begin with, but we usually acknowlege it and have a little “awww” moment. This year I got flowers, but our 7 year anniversary was also the day of our 20 week ultrasound, so it was happy anniversary/thanks for growing me a baby flowers.

We celebrated our tenth dating anniversary this year, and I said, “So this is the last time we’ll celebrate this anniversary.” He said, “We could celebrate both!” At which I had to laugh, because he usually remembers the anniversary on the morning of and frantically scrambles to do something, while I watch and snicker.

We just went out to dinner. Any excuse to steal some Darling Husband time & a nice dinner, I’m in ;]. We didn’t do flowers or gifts or anything though!

@smiles4jo: Tomorrow is our dating anniversary, too! ;o) We’ll be celebrating, but small time. Probably a card/love letter & going out to dinner.

Hmm…I’m sure we will acknowledge it. It’d be a good excuse to go out for a nice dinner 🙂 Every year, Fiance gets a bottle of wine from the year we started dating (2001) and we crack it open. We were just saying it’s just as well we’re getting married and will have a new anniversary to celebrate because wine from 2001 is starting to get more expensive/difficult to find lol! When the 2013 vintages start appearing on shelves, we should go buy a crate or two haha!

I’m not married yet (soon!), but we’re planning on doing a small celebration on our dating anniversary. We could never forget that anniversary, it’s what started it all and we’ve been celebrating it for 7 years and it’s close to our 1/2 anniversary anyway. 🙂
