Personally I stopped a while ago getting take out or getting Tim Hortons coffee ( in Canada )
As I don’t want to rush getting sick from someone serving
How about you all ?

Risk not rush
We order delivery but that’s it.
I don’t eat out a lot anyway. Before Covid, my husband and I would do one sit down meal and one fast food type meal a week.
We get takeout breakfast every weekend from a local spot down the road. And maybe once ever 2-3 weeks we also will do fast food. We’ve done a few carry out orders for special occasions. That’s about it.
We get take out a couple of meals per week, and DH has kept up his Starbucks habit. But, we haven’t been inside a restaurant since early March 2020. We did some outdoor dining over the summer (heavily scoped out to ensure that masks were enforced and seats were 6+ feet apart), but that’s it. We actually ended up getting COVID (I picked it up, despite wearing a mask, at the grocery store…our town has a lot of anti-maskers unfortunately), and going to a restaurant was high on our list for “things we want to do with our COVID immunity”, but we’re almost 2 months out since getting it and still haven’t bothered. At this point, we may try to sneak in one meal (following the local guidelines of wearing masks except when seated and eating), but it’s not something either of us necessarily misses. We love eating out on vacation, but not so much locally.
I won’t eat in a restaurant. I’m masked in every indoor environment except my own home and my dentist’s office (who has excellent COVID protocols). I have no protection without my mask, so no eating out. I might re-evaluate after I’m vaccinated, but I’m still iffy on whether the new variants might have a chance of giving me lung scarring or other complications. Even outdoors, I won’t do it with someone I don’t live with, because there is no way of knowing for certain that they aren’t an asymptomatic carrier of the virus.
I’ve gotten take out only once in the last year. I rarely get it anyway. I opened the container, washed my hands, took the food out, and put it on a plate. Then after I was done eating, I got rid of the container and washed my hands again. I don’t know what kind of hand hygiene people had. Even in pre-COVID times, I wasn’t thrilled with take out because many people don’t properly wash after going to the bathroom and many people come to work sick. Norovirus and other ailments are common.
We didnt eat out a lot even before COVID, practically never since having our son 2.5 years ago, and maybe ordered take out once a month. We didnt order take out for months after March 2020, but started to again maybe once ever few weeks, still not very often. We definitely get coffee a lot less since we WFH and don’t go anywhere so we’re never just passing by to grab one.
I work in restaurants and I still haven’t gone out to eat yet lol when I work, my mask and gloves stay on. I see how people are behaving when they are out. It’s not encouraging.
we get take out when we want something and my local coffee place built a roof on their patio so they could utilize their to go window in all weather. I’ve been there a few times to grab a coffee and go.
We haven’t been out to eat in a restaurant for a year now. We do still get carry-out sometimes from places that deposit the food into the trunk when you pull up and call them to tell them you’re there. There have been SO many reports of spreader events happening in restaurants that it just isn’t worth it to me.
As an aside, my group comes up for vaccination on March 1. Yay!!
I only ate at a restaurant twice last year. So far haven’t this year. I do order takeout fairly often, as I’m more comfortable wiping down containers but not sharing the same air as 100 other people inside without masks lol.
Yes, I’ve been to a few restaurants. I’ve also been to the theater. I was pleased with COVID precautions in both. I’m hoping by summer life will be somewhat normal again.
We haven’t eaten inside of a restaurant since last March but we do get take out once or twice per week because we think it’s important to support the local businesses. They’re part of our neighborhood and the amount of contact we have with them while we pick up an order is no more than the contact with the grocery store clerk, which we do once every week or two. When you think about it, all of the employees touching the packaging you buy at the grocery store (the stockers, the baggers, the cashier) and all of the customers who have pawed through all of those produce bins and touched that apple you bought, put you at the same risk.
I’m not minimizing the risk – believe me, I’m very cautious and have basically stayed home for a year – but I do feel that supporting your local places now and then is a good thing and, while practicing good habits, is no greater risk than the other things you have to do – grocery, drug store, gas station, etc.
All the restaurants have been closed here for months, only delivery, so I haven’t eaten out in a restaurant in long while. We get delivery about once or twice a week lately.
I get take out coffee probably once a month or so, but this was never a habit of mine and it didn’t bother me at all.
My coworker and I eat out for lunch everday M-F inside and for the most part every restaurant we’ve been to has precautions in place so we feel safe. I also get my coffee every morning still on my way to work and haven’t had any issues with that either. I am high risk (diabetes) but as long as I’m protecting myself I try not to worry so much. Ive had Covid already during Christmas and it was pretty rough but it was from one of my husbands employees not my daily outings…my husband got it as well from this employee. I try to keep my life as normal as possible while taking all the precautions needed to protect myself and others. Stay safe and well 💕
