I take mine off all the time. Pretty much when I’m doing anything other than just “out and about”.

I’m pretty active so I take mind off whenever I’m working out, going to the beach, cooking, washing dishes, showering, sleeping, etc. Unless I’m going out for a prolong period of time I don’t even worry about putting it back on.

For example. I ran 10 miles this morning and of course didn’t wear it. Came home and showered, now I’ve been lounging around and haven’t bothered to put it back on.

I used to take mine off (before I lost it) to wash my hands, clean, shower, put on lotion, and things of that nature. I also take it off when I lift weights, but not when I’m just running, doing yoga, stairclimber, etc. I don’t wear it if I’m going anywhere too outdoorsy like the beach.

I don’t take mine off to sleep. It never occurred to me, and I never had a problem. A lot of bees do though. I don’t mean to thread jack, but why is that?

I have low maintenance rings (no pave, etc) and I still take my rings off often. When I go running (usually this is more because of the sunblock issue but there have been times where I tripped on trails, etc and was glad I was not wearing them!), to the gym (weights), when cooking with anything “icky”, when cleaning (not when doing laundy, but like working with cleaners in kitchen, etc), when showering, putting on lotion or sunblock, when doing anything that puts them at risk or anything dirty (eg gardening) or when doing anything that puts my fingers at risk (working with tools, bungee jumping, etc!). I also take them off while sleeping (though my new rings don’t have prongs so are at less risk I imagine this will continue out of habit unless I am away from home).

I always put them in a safe place (ringholder, on my chain, in cleaning solution/ultrasonic, etc) when I take them off. I even have a ringholder at work!

If I am going somewhere where I am not comfortable wearing my “ering”/wedding rings I have my stand in set of stackers (like if I am on vacation and going into the ocean).

I actually think it is kind of gross when people never take them off. I see these older ladies with rings that they cannot even get off their finger anymore and I cringe. I have heard some nasty stories about what can be under those rings.

I take mine off all the time.  I put on when I go outside the house, but other than that, it’s put away usually.

@obsessivebee:  If you sleep with them there is a risk of damage to the prongs from sheets (prongs get pulled/rubbed and you may lose a stone when the prongs loosen), or by you laying on them funny and adding pressure, etc.

I was also going to say that if you have little stones like that in the band, what you’re doing is probably a good idea.  Less chance of losing a stone.

I take mine off when I’m showering or using cleaning products, skin lotions etc.

I don’t wash dishes luckily my fiancé does that 🙂

Because I lift at the gym and get up very early in the morning to do so, I cannot wear mine to sleep.  I try to remember to take it off before I fall asleep because trying to get it off of my swollen hands at 4:00 the morning is near impossible and has caused cuts on my knuckles (yes, it needs to be sized a smidge bigger).

I also remove it if I am doing dishes, cooking or preparing meats, or anything messy that I don’t want crusted onto my ring.  While I do dishes, I put it in a mug with hot water and a little dish detergent and give it a quick scrub with a baby toothbrush when I’m done.

I leave it on almost all the time, I take it off to tan, while cleaning with heavy chemicals, washing the dog, and putting lotion on. I have a habit of misplacing things, so I’m terrified of putting it somewhere and running around like a crazy person like I do with my phone every 5 minutes.

Just to take care of it, I take mine off when I’m cleaning, sleeping, showering, swimming, an even when I am at work. It is not appropriate or safe for my job. I also take it off for working out, etc. If it could be damaged, I take it off.

I only really take mine off while showering, doing dishes, applying lotion, or cooking where I would get my hands messy. I used to take mine off to sleep but I like wakeing up in the morning with it on.

I take it off to shower, cook with messy things (meat, dough), put on lotion and sleep. I’m sure I don’t need to baby it so much, but I would be distraught if something happened to it.

I basically don’t wear mine around the house anymore.  I for sure take it off for swimming, cleaning the house, cooking, using lotion, working out, showering, and sleeping.

I take mine off for sleeping, showering and applying lotion.  Sometimes if I come home and get comfy I take it off too.
