I only take mine off for showering, washing my hands, or doing dishes. If I’m worried it might accidentally slip off in the sink or some chemical will hurt it I take it off, otherwise I just wear it all the time.

I take mine off to wash dishes, my hands, take a shower, and when i’m cooking messy stuff (raw meat, meatloaf, etc). I wear it all day at work, and when I sleep, I wear it when I do laundry too

All the time. I only wear it to work or when I go out. After the accident, the ER people took off all my rings and with a broken left hand, now I can’t wear any!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

@StaceyLeighS:

I clean my own every 3-4 days. Either in jewelery cleaner (you can buy at Walmart, etc) or in dishsoap/warm water with a baby toothbrush, or in the ultrasonic (do not use latter if you have pave!).  Some who get free cleanings take to jeweler, but some of their methods are not great for pave either. Mine do get cleaned when I take them in for other work.

I no longer have pronged settings (or won’t when my new rings show up!), but when I did, I had them checked 1-2x a year. Always a good idea to get done as a loose prong can equal a lost stone!

I rarely take it off. I take it off if I’m putting on some sticky lotion, handling raw meat or doing some kings of messy cooking /baking (like kneading bread), or doing some kind of work that it could get beat up doing like renos or weights at the gym.

I take mine off to wash my hands because I hate feeling my rings constantly wet for 20 minutes after i’ve washed my hands, even if I’ve taken due care to dry them as meticulously as possible.

You’ll get used to wearing a ring eventually.

I only take my ring off when I am washing dishes or cleaning with chemicals. I hate taking it of though, because then I forget to put it back on and don’t notice until i am gone, and then I feel naked without it.

Congrats, truly beautiful ring and welcome to the Hive!

I leave my ring on all the time (sleep with it, shower with it etc) and only take it off when I get my hands dirty with food preparation or if I go swimming. It’s quite a simple solitaire, though.

Congratulations on your engagement, your ring is gorgeous!

I take my ring off when I sleep (when I first got engaged I wore it and always had dreams that the diamond fell out while I was sleeping, so I stopped lol). I also don’t wear it to the gym, when I’m working in the yard, cooking or doing dishes. Other than that, I wear it around the house and when I’m out. We have one really fuzzy blanket that I had to stop using because my diamond is also set high and it got caught on the fuzzies and I got orange fuzz stuck in the prongs! 🙂

Congratulations!

My ring has little stones like yours too. I take it off when I’m sleeping or showering, if I have someplace safe to put it. I wouldn’t recommend taking it off to wash yours hands, especially in public places, unless you have a really safe place to keep it. I’m not worried about my little stones falling out at all (even though the main one already did once :-/  ), but even if they do, it’s a lot easier to replace a small stone that’s gone down the drain than a whole ring.

Congrats!! My stone also has little sidestones like yours, and I do wear my ring around the house most of the time, but I am selective about it. I take it off to shower, apply lotion, garden, dishes, deep cleaning (anything more than wiping something up really quickly with the exception of using bleach or other harsh chemicals), etc. I sleep with it on though! 🙂

I don’t think I would take it into a pool for fear of it slipping off and getting sucked into the filter….so no, you’re not crazy!

I take mine off for bed and then put them on after putting my makeup in the morning.

I also take off my rings when I do chores, but I still “wear” them on a necklace.
