if i do take it off, i put it in the ultra sonic cleaner, so it can have its bath. i like to keep it super clean, not only so it sparkles, but to wash out any bacteria that may have gotten into it!! (germ freak!)

I usually don’t wear my rings while at home. I put them into my jewelry box after I wash my hands when I get home.
I also never wear rings (or any jewelry for that matter) at the gym.

@indibee: Thanks for the link…gross. But does the same go for Platinum and Diamonds? My rings is super thin and loose..so it’s not like my skin is decaying underneath. And they smell fine (just checked) 🙂

My ring NEVER comes off my finger. Not ever. Never.

I voted yes, because I usually take mine off at home. I used to play a lot of sports and still play golf and go to the gym – and always took off any rings I had on. So I suppose I’m just used to taking them off and putting them into a box or small bag for safekeeping while I’m using my hands a lot.

I see my ring as any other piece of jewelery. I don’t sleep with earrings, other rings, bracelets, necklaces, ect. My e-ring is no different. It goes back in it’s box at shower time and I put it back on in the morning. I also don’t wash dishes with it. I don’t cook messy stuffy with it either.

@indibee: That post made me a little sick!
I take my rings off in the morning, when I am showering, fixing my hair, etc. They also come off if my hands are going to get messy (cleaning, cooking, etc.). I have a ring holder that I use whenever I’m not wearing my ring.

I take my ring off every time I shower.

@JaneyD: and @keepsmiling19: I know, it’s disgusting. I can’t imagine letting something get that bad. I get my ring cleaned all the time since the setting is very open and even hand-washing soap from the bathrooms ends up making it cloudy-looking *to me, anyway, I’m sure Fiance wouldn’t know the difference* 🙂
The link at the very top of the article I posted (it’s about nasty earrings, at the very top of the ring article) DO NOT read that during meal time. There. are. photos. *blehk!*

I always take mine off to shower because I’m too paranoid about 1) it falling down the dran or 2) the gold getting damaged from all the chemicals.

I take my ring off as soon as I get home and never wear it in the shower. I am also very careful about how I was my hands while I have it on and avoid getting the soap on the ring. Oh and I am a hand sanitizer user and try hard to avoid getting that on my ring because I worry that it could really damage it!

My ring is my most prized possession. I love Fiance and my baby boy chihuahua, but as far as things that do not breathe, I have never had anything so beautiful and valuable in my entire iife. I don’t take it off to bathe. The only time I take it off is when I’m being lazy, and doing my skincare regimen of Obagi which contains tons of chemicals like Hydriquinone and is also mixed with RetinA, and I want to use both hands to speed it up because it’s so many steps. I don’t want the chemicals to ever come close to my ring, so I take it off and put it in the ring box that Fiance proposed with from the jewelry store. NEVER just lay it anywhere else. That’s a couple of times a week. Most of the time, I just use my right hand to do my Obagi process. Having to take my ring off sometimes makes me wish I wasn’t addicted to Obagi, but it works too well to quit!

I feel the urge to post this (biased) blog post. If you wear your ring ALL the time, it will eventually degrade and could start hurting you!

Mine would slip right off with conditioner! I take it off when I shower and when I go to bed, and yes, it has two special little cases for these times.

I used to, but then I found out the water and the stuff in my face/body wash tarnishes the rohdium (sp?) off of my ring faster. Since the insurance the covers getting it re-done is going out soon, I decided I could make that little sacrifice. It’s only off for 10-20 minuets a day. = )
