I only wear mine at work when I know I am not going out in the field or when we go out. By comparison, I NEVER take off my wedding band!

I would take mines off all the time. I’m basically like you: I never wore it at home. I cant wear rings to bed because my fingers swell(depends on the foods I eat). And I would take it off when washng my hands or applying lotion or anything that could possibly cause it to become loose over time.

I take my rings off when I get home.  I also take them off for cleaning, putting on lotion, after washing my hands to dry underneath them, and for working out.

I can’t believe how many people take their rings off!

I would be afraid to lose it or something.

I keep mine on all the time. I cook with it, clean with it, shower with it, sleep with it, etc.

The diamond did fall out once, about 4 months in… but I caught it, and the jewelry store fixed it. Plus, we have the ring insured just in case I were to break it or lose it. No big deal.

My finger feels naked without it.

I never take it off regularly. Only a few times, when the photographer wanted to take a picture of it, when my fiance wanted to take a closer look, and when my mom wanted to try it on, baha! 🙂

Because I was scared to loose it I kept it on all the time the only time I take it off is when putting moisturizer on my hands

99% of the time I don’t take off my e-ring, but if I do, I ask my FH to put it back on…

Wow…I had no idea so many women took their engagement rings off! I LITERALLY never do.  It’s on all the time.  When I’m sleeping, showering, cleaning…even with bleach!

Is that bad? Now I’m worried I don’t take mine off enough.  I want it to stay pretty…but I’m afraid that if I take it off something will happen to it.  I’m so clumsy and I lose things so easily.  What should I do?

I take mine off when I walk thru the door after getting off work. I love wearing my ring, but I do so ,uch when I get home Ii dont want the stone to get loose or fall out. i put it back on as soon as I am done getting ready in the morning.

I take it off for any kind of cooking.  Also cleaning, washing my hands, lotion, etc.  I couldn’t sleep in it–I can’t sleep in jewelry.  Doesn’t it catch on your comforter for those who sleep in it?  I just don’t get it.

I find myself taking it off at work quite a bit too and putting it on my desk.  I think this is more because I tend to play with it, spin it on my finger, etc so it helps me focus if it isn’t there!  I also compulsively put lotion on at work several times a day so it’s just easier than going on and off.  I work in a secure area and have a private office so I feel safe taking it off there.

I take mine off when washing dishes, showering, cooking certain things and going into the hot tub or pool. I am way too afraid to take it off any other time in fear of losing it lol

@donnaaries: This is exactly how I feel too.

“I must be weird, I never wear my rings when I’m in the house.  I’m just not a jewelry person, and my fingers feel more comfortable without them on.  Don’t get me wrong, I love both rings but it’s just a matter of comfort.  I never wore a lot of jewelry before getting married, and am still that way.  Out in public, I usually just wear my wedding band, if it’s a dress-up occasion, then I’ll wear both e-ring and wedding band.”

@PrincessNali:  If your ring is a sturdy engagement ring then it should be ok.  If it’s delicate then personally I would put it on for special occasions but leave a durable wedding band on all the time (which is what I plan to do! )
