I take mine off when I’m in the kitchen and doing messy things, shower time, at night when I’m sleeping, and when I’m working in the lab.

@pinkshoes:  I only wear mine if I leave my house. I take it off as soon as I get home or as soon as I get to the gym.

It’s off more than on, these days. That sounds bad, but I work in a lumber/machinery warehouse and I’d rather keep it at home safe than bang it off something and loosen/damage stones. On days off, I take it off to shower, do dishes, etc… and take it off before bed because I’m restless and known to hit the walls, lol.

I take mine off a lot: swimming, working out, showering, cleaning, putting on lotion.  I pretty much take them off when I get home and put them on when I’m leaving the house.

I take mine off when I get home every day.  While out I only take them off while getting a manicure or to do a physical task at work, which rarely happens.  I always carry a satin pouch in my bag to put them if I have to take them off.  I’m extremely cautious and methodical in the handling of my rings, whether they’re on or off my finger.

I take my e-ring off as soon as I get home. When I start wearing my wedding band, I’ll probabyl keep that on, but take off the e-ring also when I get home.

Never wear it in the shower, sleeping, swimming, dishes, cleaning, cooking, nothing. I’m very, very careful with my e-ring and I’ll be just as careful with my band in that sense.

I take mine off when I head to school. If I ever lost it on campus, I would never find it. :0

Never. I am forgetful so I would rather not forget.

I take my ring off as soon as I get home from work with the rest of my jewelry.  I also take if off while I’m at the gym…I wore it once and it just got in the way and I was worried the whole time it would slip off.  I usually don’t wear it while I’m at home, unless I’m wedding planning…Fiance says I must wear my ring while wedding planning haha

I have to take it off for school. I choose to take it off during showers, washing dishes, applying lotion and while sleeping. Occasionally when I prep food and I wear a stand in ring when I go to the beach.

Ya, I take it off to shower, put on lotion, and when I lift weights at the gym. I always put it on top of my phone and hook it onto my headphones at the gym so that I remember to put it back on but today I grabbed my phone and just left the gym and as I was walking down the hallway realised I didn’t have it!. I ran back and it was just lying on the ground. It was really scary! So now I have to find somewhere else to put it while I’m at the gym.

@sarahfw:  You should get a necklace with lobster claws on each end, that way you have it on you close to your heart. I know etsy sells cute ones!

@CeruleanOcean:  That’s a good idea. I was thinking I should get a necklace to put it on whenever I take it off because I’m so forgetful and get distracted so easily. Thanks for the suggestion!

I wear a very thin rose gold band all the time (showering, lotion, cooking, cleaning).  I hardly notice it is there.  I actually rarely wear my ering or push present ring on top of the band.  Usually just on weekends when we are out and about.

@Merinda1994:  All the time. When I wash my hands, when I shower, when I work with raw meat, when I put on lotion, when I feed my cats (who eat raw food and thus raw meat), and I take off my e-ring when I sleep because I have a marquise cut and it’ll rip the sheets and probably DH’s face too.

You actually *should* take off your ring (depending on the material, at least for white gold this is true) when you wash your hands/put on lotion/use harsh chemicals (such as dish soap as mentioned or shampoo) because it degrades the plating on your gold. White gold is not white gold. White gold is yellow gold with a rhodium plating, and chemicals such as those found in soaps will damage the ring. And if you don’t have a care plan on your ring, you’ll have to pay for replating. Also the thought of old lotion or raw meat grossness in the ring is…well…gross. All the nooks and crannies it can get into..blegh.
