I’m paranoid about losing mine down a drain. So I take it off when I’m showering, in the bath, doing the dishes, or basically anything with an open drain nearby (except handwashing. That would clearly be on the other side of crazy.)

I used to take it off when I went to bed, because I’ve always done this with my rings, but I trained myself to get used to sleeping with it on before going on a 10 day trip to Greece because I was more worried about leaving it somewhere!

I take mine off all the time.  I haven’t gotten used to typing with it (pre-engagement, I’d take all my rings off at work), so at work, I have it in a little special spot on the base of my computer.  At home, I take it off to sleep, shower, cook, gym, etc.  I treat it just like any of my other rings I used to wear.

Hardly ever.  I wear it when I sleep and shower, but it comes off if I’m cooking something especially messy, cleaning without gloves on, or painting.  I also leave it at home if I’m going to get a manicure.

My fiance said that when I first got the ring I slept with my hand flat on my chest all night – even in my sleep I was afraid of losing it!!  Since it has been properly sized, however, I never have to worry about it falling off.

I didn’t take my e-ring off at first, but it’s a really delicate one (pave diamonds on the shank/3 sides, all around the halo) and I am pretty active so I finally decided that *not* wearing it while playing sports was probably a good idea (I also got much better at them once catching a ball or frisbee didn’t hurt my hand so much ;). Now I take it off to sleep (my fingers get swollen), shower, apply lotion or sunscreen, clean, handle raw meat, and exercise. Once I have a wedding band I’ll also take the e-ring off to work (bad neighborhood and it makes me uncomfortable).

Fiance doesn’t mind that I remove the ring, but he’s afraid that I’ll lose it. So am I. 🙁 We’re thinking of getting a plain wedding band instead of the matching eternity band now so that I don’t have to take it off all the time.

I don’t take mine off very often.  Maybe for cooking when I’m using my hands, but otherwise no.  I have pretty sensitive hands so when I’m cleaning or gardening or at the gym I wear gloves and it’s protected then.

I take my engagement ring off if I’m putting hand lotion on, if I’m cooking something messy and right before bed.  A friend bought me a beautiful Waterford ring holder when we got engaged that I keep next to my jewelry box…I’d hate to put it waste! 😉

I take mine off for showering, cooking, washing the dishes and applying lotion or hair products.  Otherwise it’s always on my finger, even at the gym (which worked out nicely to get this creepy guy to stop bothering me).

I think I follow the trend of pp…shower, cook (if it’s gonna be messy), wash the dishes, lotion/hand sanitizer.  I would take it off at the gym, but after seeing signs for a few weeks that said Missing: wedding rings, $25K, it made me think twice.

I take my ring off if I’m at the gym or doing in-depth cooking.

I definitely leave mine on at the gym so I don’t get bothered…but I take it off most of the time when I shower, wash my face, do dishes, or swim so it doesn’t slip off.  I would leave it on for all those things too, if I wasn’t too afraid of losing it!

I wear mine most of the time. I only take it off when I put on lotion or cook messy things or work in the yard.

I take mine off as soon as I get home every evening and dont put it back on until I am ready to leave the house the next day. I also take it off when I go to the gym.

I take my engagement ring off every day when I come home from work and put it in the box on my dresser, unless I know we’re headed out for dinner or something. I never wear it while washing dishes, in the shower, working out, etc.  I’m too nervous about it.

Only when I’m stretching pizza dough and my Fiance insists on putting it on his pinky so it doesn’t get lost!  Too cute.
