I personally think 3mm is too thick but that’s because it felt like it was too much on me. My FMIL has nice long fingers and I think her set total is at least 7mm and it looks gorgeous on her. Remember that you’ll add a wedding band to it (unless you plan on wearing only one ring) so that will add to the comfort. I don’t find wide bands comfortable; the most I like is about 4mm total.

My finger is even smaller than yours.  3.5 both ering and wedding band.  I honestly didn’t know all these little specs until wedding bee so I was never specific about the size.  They turned out perfect to me tho.

If your fingers are anything like mine, which means the area where the rings go is very short (much shorter than the pics here), then the smaller width might be better. Depends on your e-ring and any other rings you may want to wear there.

The pics of the other women here, and every other pic on this site, seem to have much longer ring areas on their finger than I do. My ring area is from 1/2 to 3/4 length of what other fingers are. In fact, until I started seeing all these hands on Wedding Bee, I never realized how short mine is! I had never noticed it before coming here.

Just shy of 4mm, and my finger is a size 4. Probably going for a 2mm wedding band, but I definitely don’t think 3mm is too thick.

I’ve worn a 14k ring on my right hand for years and initially it was 3mm but now it’s more like 2mm on the palm side of my hand lol I can’t explain it. But just be aware, if you get one too thin it might eventually break!

Soft gold does wear away in time. My mum’s 18k wedding  ring  started out faceted , but by the time I was of an age to notice rings it was completly smooth!
