@jessyrez:

100% a trend right now.

Just pick a classic looking sash and you will have no worries about looking back in 15 years and hating your look.

Classic never goes out of style.

Yes probably a trend.  I will be wearing one (and love it) but I’m only concerned about today and not 10-15+years down the line!

Yes, it’s a trend. I wore one though. Wear what you love!

When I went shopping the consultants kept tryibg to push the sashes on me and looked shocked when I said I wasn’t interested in sashes.

@jessyrez:  You said it in your original post … Everything is a trend.  Honestly, though, I think people should just do what they like.  I hope that in 20 years I look at my wedding photos and think, “That was a really great day and I’m so glad I got to spend it with so many people I love.”  I don’t think I’ll get hung up on what I’m wearing or the fact that I picked a certain color for my bridesmaids or any what our centerpieces looked like or any of that stuff.  (At least I hope not!)

If it matters at all, I did choose to order a sash/belt.  It’s not a beaded sash like you’re talking about, but it has some washed silk organza flowers with tiny Swarovski crystals on a satin ribbon.  I ordered it because I loved it and really felt like it gave my dress a little extra something that really appealed to me.  I didn’t even worry about whether or not it was too trendy (or not trendy enough).

@jessyrez:  Your dress is gorgeous go with the plain sash and dress it up with the jewerly you want to wear. Its not worth damaging your gown, sell the other sash on ebay or on here to ge some of your money back.

Totally a trend. Then again what part of a wedding look isn’t a trend? I can’t see anyone NOT laughing at some aspect of their wedding looking back. If it’s gotta be something, it may as well be a pretty sash 🙂 It really isn’t that extreme

This is interesting to me…never thought of it, but then again I’m from the era where big hair and huge puffy wedding sleeves were in style, so to me that’s dated not sashes LOL

I made this one …plus have the linked one below on its way, I can’t decide which one I want, or if I want to just go plain, so I’m interested to read this thread for sure…

I made this one…

and I bought this one its on its way…the ribbon part is silver, and it will go the full length of the bling unlike the pics (because I was worried abotu snagging)

I am really noticing that the trend is for the sashes to be right under the bust  not at the waist. It seems to make the dress look longer and surprising how small the waist looks

@angelinthesnowxo:  +1 I hope to think the same thing.

I have never ever seen a pic from the past where I dont notice the trends from that time whether it is shoes, hair, clothes, cars, makeup so I think it’s inevitable. I look at my mom’s wedding pictures and you can clearly tell it was the ’70s.
