I’ve never been to one so I can’t judge 🙂 I thought it was silly that I had to sit through a convo regarding vendors at DB’s in order to try on dresses so I can only imagine how I’d feel at a show.

Don’t worry, you’re not the only one!  I haven’t been to any bridal shows and never really had any interest in doing so.  Like you said, I’m not a fan of aggressive vendors or unwittingly signing up for email spam lists.

I never went to one to actually judge but I never had any desire to and don’t really get the appeal.  Not my thing and definitely not necessary to plan a wedding.

Oh I feel the same. I took Fiance to one as I don’t have close gf’s here. We are getting married back home, so just wanted some ideas etc. I couldn’t use any of the vendors if I wanted to. It was so stressful with all the people, hot with no beverages. So much crap to haul home. And now the emails. I think I was expecting something else, but I’m not sure what.

ugh – yeah, all the follow-up emails and pushy vendors were not worth the hassle. I totally agree!

I went to one for the experience with some of my bridesmaids and to meet up with the person DJing our wedding.. but yeah.. it’s not my cup of tea. I definately wouldn’t go again.. I get way too clustraphobic in situations like that where there are millions of people trying to talk to you and in your space.

I went to one, not entirely my thing but no one there was really being that aggressive so it wasn’t too bad.  Next time I go though I am using my “junk mail” email address.  Somehow a realtor got my home address and keeps sending me stuff in the mail, even though we just bought a house 2 years ago and aren’t planning on moving, so that’s annoying.

I’ve only gone to one and had a very positive experience.  Then again it was at my wedding venue with all of their mandatory or recommended vendors…which wasn’t a whole bunch.  Not once was I pressured into anything.  Not once was I asked for my email or mailing address.  And not once did I feel out of place.  Instead I ate and drank away and chatted it up and made appointments with my florist and baker.
