Yes, in a few years. Didn't take long for MySpace to come in and out. : (7 votes)

I think social media is here to stay. It’s one of the most cost-effective ways to reach an online audience.

Facebook in its current inception probably won’t last too much longer though. It will need to keep up to meet the growing needs of the public and the latest emerging technologies.

So it will have to evolve, or else it will be replaced with The Next Big Thing.

Social Media is definately here to stay.  If it is not Facebook then it will be something else…

Eh… I don’t know. I kind of feel like its already been ruined. They basically killed it when they started allowing anyone on it, including businesses. I miss the good ol’ days when it was just college students. Now with everyone’s mom’s and grandpas on it, its just not the same. I feel like the original users of it (those of us who were in college when it started) are kind of sick of it and are rapidly fleeing… however I think it will probably exist in SOME capacity for years to come.

I think Myspace only faded because it had a terrible layout and all the creepers hung out there! haha.  Yes, social media is here to stay though, and I think Facebook specifically will be around for a while…if it dies it will only be because something else took it’s place.

Yeah the evolution of facebook has been huge.  I got on it the same day it openned up at my college (remember, you could only get on it if they had your college listed).  The whole thing looked/functioned completely different.  If Facebook keeps up with the times it could stay around awhile.

I always thought myspace just became this massive stripper/porn star central so I kinda just started to use facebook more. About a year ago it looked like myspace might become a really big thing in the music industry but that’s even starting to die out some. Facebook on the other hand seems to be staying strong, I think we’ll know if it’ll last in the next year or two and more importantly I think if they switch over to a payable format that may change the way it’s used as well.

I really like facebook for the social networking and even the local business updates… But I dislike the fact that I must scroll through games…  and nonsense that I don’t care about!

I really only use Facebook because my Fiance family is in another country so they like to see pictures and know what is going on and it is faster and easier them emailing tons of pictures!

I hope it does.  I know a lot of people that are not on it, or are off of it, or who have never been on it.  I think it is already fading.  I think it should have stayed exclusive for college students.

I miss when you had to have a .edu address, too. Now my page is full of “likes” and games, and “so-and-so has answered a question about you!”

Yeah, I’m tired of Facebook’s redesigns and applications, but it is how I talk to a bunch of my friends. It has come close to replacing the phone. Send me texts people. I want my texts!
