So, for the ceremony I’m having a guitarist. Originally, I just wanted him to play. But, I heard him with a violinist, and I liked the sound.
I ended up hiring both of them to play the 30-45 minutes of pre-ceremony music, the procession/recession music and a 3-5 minute music piece during the ceremony. I’m then going to have them move to our cocktail hour space and play for our extended cocktail hour (2 hours).
I definitely want the guitarist to play during the ceremony – and am now wondering if I should ‘save’ the violinist for the cocktail hour (so the music vibe is different). They would play more music, and a more celebratory vibe during the cocktail hour).
I guess what I’m thinking is there won’t be any wow factor (since it will be the same ol’ thing from the ceremony) – and I was thinking adding the violin would give it that extra pop!
But – on the other hand – if I don’t have the violin at the ceremony – it may be one of those (wow – wish the violinist would have been at the ceremony – type reactions from guests).
AM I OVER THINKING THIS? Will it matter if the same 2 musicians do the ceremony and the cocktail hour???
