I’ve heard a lot of amazing things about day-of coordinators, especially here on the Bee. I know they are fantastic for larger weddings, but I’m curious if one would be necessary for my wedding? Here’s some specs below:
-Approx 40 people
-Ceremony outdoors (weather permitting), reception area right close to ceremony space (same property, all right there)
-Lodges on property for guests to stay
-No DJ, dance, or speeches. Only doing first dance and father/daughter dance and having bonfire after
-Using my phone for playlist and bluetooth bose speaker for music
-Only vendors would be photographer, flowers, and possibly dessert. Everything else covered by venue
We’re definitey having a more casual wedding, but I was wondering if a day-of coordinator would still be necessary to ensure everything runs smoothly? I would love to hear your thoughts!

If you have a bridal party, yes. The lady was a godsend for just our spacing and walking down the isle at my friend’s wedding.

- Wedding: December 2017 - Lake Louise Canada
Our wedding is also less than 50 guests. I mostly need our day-of ladies to set up decorations and take them down at night so no one else has to. Theyll of course also help the florist, catering and photographer, and tell people where to go.

We had 65 guests. Outdoor ceremony with reception in building on the same property.
Our DOC was worth her weight in gold! You don’t want to worry about wrangling people or having to coordinate with your vendors the day of your wedding. Hand over all that responsibility to someone else.

Yes get a DOC so you and your people can focus on the spirit of he lovely day not setting stuff up and worrying.
not to sound snotty but as a DOC myself once upon a time most people are smitten with the thought of event planning and setting up thinking it’s fun but underestimate how difficult it can be. Unless you have excellent problem solving n communication skills, can think quick on your feet and have time management skills, trying to diy your day of get sticky n frustrating. Good luck!

i’d imagine you’re borderline
I had a wedding with 40 ppl, outdoors in a manor’s backyard. I had more vendors than you though, since the venue did nothing other than provide a space.
I was very happy to have hired a DOC.
