I’ve posted a few times about the customization of my gown. Right now it is all on hold until I get to the weight I plan to be at for the wedding. No point in taking it in twice, especially since that could change the placement of some of the pieces.
Well, in the meantime I have of course been stressing about how it will look when it is all done. Will it be flattering? Will I like it.
I went to DB to try on some cheap gowns in case I wanted to take one with me abroad (since I have to have two weddings, one in Israel, I thought I might not want to travel with my main gown). I didn’t find one to take, but I did try on a gown that is a similar shape to mine and the bodice fit amazingly. I’m concerned that the bodice of my gown won’t be able to be altered to fit as well as this one =. To be fair, at DB I was wearing a longline bra, in my gown I was wearing a strapless bra (not nearly as supportive or flattering). Also the DB gown was a size too small so it really sucked me in (read: serious back fat), and my gown is currently still too large. The waist is also covered by pinned pieces of the organza skirt in the pic.
So my question is, do you think my gown’s bodice can be fitted to look as flattering as the DB gown? I’m considering having my seamstress re-cut the neckline and possibly even redrape the fabric on the bodice. I would just ask her, but I’m feeling like a crazy person always wanting to make changes. So I thought I would come to you guys first =).
Here’s the DB gown:
And here is my gown:
I think the longline bra makes a huge difference. My boobs look super droopy in my dress with just the strapless bra.

I think I’m missing something…your dress looks like it fots way better than the DB dress!! I don’t see any boob issues or amything- I wouldn’t change it at all!

@Lisushi: when you get alterations they will be able to pin in the top so you don’t look droopy. (I don’t think you look droopy, it just looks too big). Very pretty dress!!

Your dress looks WAY better/more flattering than the DB one!

I agree with the other posters. I really think your dress looks so much better on you! The top doesn’t look saggy on top at all.

Your dress is great ! Get a bra that makes you feel like you did the the DB dress, but I definitely don’t think you look better in it.

The shape of the neckline on the David’s dress looks el cheapo in comparison to the dress you have already.

@Lisushi: i personally think your dress is so much better than the DB dress

@Lisushi: Your dress is so much flattering than the DB dress, not to mention a million times more beautiful and unique. The DB dress cuts into your bust, the sweetheart comes up too high IMO and looks to be pinching a bit, which I think makes it less flattering. Once your dress is properly altered to your size, I’m sure it will look even better. I would consider getting the fabric redraped, I think the existing pleating you have on the bodice is much more flattering as it is.

I agree that your dress is beautiful!! It is much better and way more flattering than th dB dress

Please do not alter it. Your seamstress will make it fit you but do not change the style

You just need to get it tucked an inch at the top… The seamstress will do that. Its a common alteration. Mine is too big there too.
