Im thinking about having my bridesmaid carry feather fans with a liittle bling added into it. i am getting married in jamaica on a cliff with the ocean as the backdrop. Will it look like a cheap wedding if I dont have my girls carry flowers and have them carry feather fans.. such as

I dont think it looks cheap at all.
My girls will have lace parasols and maybe fake flower corsges, so no flowers.
I think its refreshing to see something different for a change 🙂
Is it a Destination Wedding wedding, if so then itll be easier to organise and not worry abour flowers 🙂

Love them! I’m doing paper flower bouquets, do what makes you happy!

As long as they’re carrying something! I think it’s odd when they don’t have anything to hold while standing up there. I think the feathers are cute.

I love the idea! Very original.

Cute! And they’ll come in handy if it’s hot.

@denspoohbear11: I ADORE this idea!!! The first photo is my favorite. Those fans are gorgeous and look very classy. I have my bridesmaids carrying battenburg lace parasols for our wedding, so I am on the no flowers for BMs train too! 🙂

I think it would be a fun idea! I’d definitely go more in line with the first picture, which I find more elegant whereas the second picture is more cute. 🙂
Personally, I’m also a less-is-more with the bling, too, so maybe keep that simple. Feathers stand out enough. Typically I think the more bling on something, the less elegant/nice it looks. But that’s just me and I’m often outvoted on that kind of thing here lol!

I think whatever the hold is great! Better when it fits the theme. But they do need something to avoid the fidgety hands. I like the first style of fan better 🙂

I’m doing feather bouquets–either making or buying but am still considering fans–it will be in July in Texas so it will be hot–the fans may be a lifesaver 😀
If you do it right, they won’t look cheap. The photos you posted are excellent examples of doing it right–I like the first set the best. Look on etsy for other examples.

Ironically my BM’s ended up carrying nothing. I had little bouquets of ivory roses put together for my sister and DH’s two sisters and right before their walk down the aisle DH’s sisters couldn’t find their bouquet so they chose to just walk down without them.
Right before my sister was going to walk down my father told her to take her bouquet, but my sister just said, well if they didn’t, I shouldn’t, and I just went with what she said and no one walked down with flowers.
However, the fans are unique and I really love the way the first picture looks.
