Since Fiance and I consider ourselves spiritual but not religious, our wedding is definitely going to be a social event. I have a handful of religious relatives, but they already know this is going to be a secular ceremony.

Since we are both Catholic, the ceremony was very religious (a vow between us and God), and then the reception was more social, though we had a priest friend of ours say Grace before the meal, which was nice. 🙂

I see our wedding ceremony as more of a religious event, and our reception as a social event to celebrate. So I’d chose equal if it were an option.

well, in our case, we arent considered married unless we have a religious wedding and marriage contract as well, even if we married civilly. so for us, primarily religious.

its also considered a blessing and commandment to celebrate the marriage and the bride and groom festively, so i guess even our party is religious too haha.
