I only have one tattoo and it’s very personal to me, and the reason I have it will be with me for the rest of my life. However, I love the look of them and I really love dressing up and playing around with themes. I would certainly not get a tattoo for the sole purpose of it matching my outfit so I’ve been thinking about buying some temporary tattoos online (not the kiddies one, proper ones for adults) that way I can coordinate my ‘tattoos’ with my outfits without having something permanent on my body.
So my question is, if you found out that someone used temporary tattoos, would you think they are lame?

pinup8princess : No. I never even gave it a thought until you brought it up. Your money, your skin, your business.

I like tattoos. I have a few of them & want / would get more. I think if you wanted to sport them as kind of an accessory I wouldn’t care. I think it’s also a great idea if your thinking about getting a tattoo in a certain style or placement you get to try it out to see if you really like it.
Personally, I don’t give a damn what anyone thinks. Do whatever makes you happy! Life’s too short to worry about something so trivial!

My experience with temporary tatoos is from when I was young with cringeworthy pink heart tatoos saying things like ‘cool chick’ so my gut reation was yeah they are lame. But the more I think about it, if your tatoo is something that means something to you and just dont want permenantly then why not, its your body. Im guessing they probably look alot more realistic and adult now so you could always try it out and see how you feel with it on. If you decide you dont like them, then at least they are temporary.

Just thought I would add some picks to help you guys make up your minds. These are just a couple from the selection that I thought were cool 🙂

yes, fake as in the ones you ub on like you have posted with that wierd plasticy shine on fakes look awful
airbrushed ones at festivals I wouldnt nessacerily think to much about
henna can be pretty cool for temporary designs, I see it as different from tattooing but a legit and intresting variation of body art
tan-toos can look cute too but I would NEVER recommend tanning to people, not worth the risk of damaging your skin

No, it would only be lame if the tattoo was of something stupid!

I think they’re awesome! I have gotten very real/adult looking tattoos from Tattly.com just for the hell of it, and I’ve been very happy with them.

I didn’t know those existed. I think it’d be cool. I still get the little kid temporary tattoos of frogs and stuff from those quarter machines sometimes, so I definitely know what cool is!

I think they’re awesome.
I have three tattoos and I would still definitely put on temporaries for fun, if I felt like it.
I’ve actually thought about buying some for designs I’m considering too, to test run them. You have inspired me to go look on Etsy for some classy temps so I can add them to my arm and see how I feel about adding on 😉

I think they’re a little pricey for a one-time accesory but I don’t think they’re lame.

I always thought they were for little kids lol. I didn’t know they made adult real looking ones. Your body do whatever you want. I think they’d be fun for dressing up. Cool to try before you “buy” if you are considering a real one. Wearing them all the time seems a little weird to me as someone with 3/4 sleeve tattoo’s with both arms. Like if I met someone one wearing these and thought they are all tatted up, and then next time I saw them the tattoos were gone that would be odd. It seems a lil “poser”-esk. If they make you happy though who cares.

In my youth I went to a few steampunk concerts, and as part of dressing the part I had a few relevant temp tattoos to complete my look.

I don’t know exactly. I would kiiind of think the person was a little lame to be totally honest – like you want the look without the commitment or pain. Heheh. (Not that I would blame them for either reason! I have two tattoos and definitely understand how it could be fun to have additional ones be temporary. ) but, I feel like maybe they’re still kind of so new that it’s just a little too fake to me? Maybe as they become more common it won’t seem “lame”?
But I have seen some of those metallic ones that are like temporary tattoo jewelry and those can seem nice…
but in the end, if they make you feel happy, then don’t worry about other people! 🙂

I have seen them recommended as a way of testing if you’re ready for a permanent tattoo. I do tend to associate them with my nine year old students though!
