Usually 1.5 carat – 3 carat, You get…Wooow I love your ring, it’s beautiful. Your fiance did good…Plus sincere genuine compliments from complete strangers.
Usually over 3 carats or a ring that is just very Gaudy and costume jewelry looking gets the following reactions: ”That’s a big ring”( with a smirk on their fac)or “you go out with that?” with a worried attitude, or “Woow…That thing is huge, is it real? Looks fake!”
For some reason my friends who have over 3 carats never get positive reactions on their rings, while my friends with under 3 carats get genuine comments, because the strangers or friends aren’t jealous & know it is probably real. They also know they could probably want & get a ring like that
I agree completely with this statement. I had a Round Brilliant solitaire in a plain white gold tiffany setting and got compliments every single time I wore it. Always “Woo he must love you!”, etc. I upgraded for our fifth anniversary. And… Nothing. People either say totally inappropriate, or hurtful things, or they just cut their eyes at me after asking to see my ring finger. Even my mom is spiteful about it. I have no problem with no comments because it is not to everyone’s taste I’m sure. But lay off the mean stuff! I personally think there is never a stone too big! LOL. But apparently everyone else at Wal-mart and the grocery store- and my family- think otherwise.
