My Fiance and I picked out the invitations we both liked. We thought they were a perfect way to fuse our two styles. My boho feel, and his country feel. I showed my best friend a pic of the invite idea and she thought they were adorable, but when I sent a picture to my mom she said, “Good joke. Not in this lifetime unless you plan to dress like honey boo-boo’s mom.”
I have to admit, that was kind of insulting. Here’s the invites we like:
Here’s a few of my Fiance and my favorite inspiration photos to show you the feel we’re going for:
I don’t think any of these are “honey boo-booish.” I thought of it as a more classy boho/country feel. What do you guys think?

Your friend is crazy! I was expecting to see something with Mountain Dew and Cheetos when I saw the thread title.
I think they’re more of a rustic look than bohemian, but I love them. And they’ll definitely go great alongside your inspiration photos.

I’m not entirely sure what ‘honey boo boo’ ish means….and I do know who that is. I just apply trashy to the whole kit and kaboodle.
Your theme and invites on the other hand? Lovely! To me it states classic, elegant yet country.

crisy003: I love the invitations and all of your inspiration pictures. I think they are beautiful and fun!

I think they could be ‘fancier’ (for lack of a better word) based on your inspiration, but they’re definitely cute & country, not “honey boo boo-ish” haha, I promise! I was expecting something super inappropriate based on your description!!

Your theme is cute! I’m not sold on the invites. Maybe it’s “the hunt is over” part that I’m struggling with. I think you could do better

crisy003: Your Mom was probably expecting something a little more traditional. It’s probaby what she is used to.
I think they are cute but country/ hunting not boho at all.

They are cute, but I would expect a full on camo wedding from those invites, and my family hunts.

Seriously? I hate to say it, but I’m with your mom. The references to hunting and deer invoke the idea of shooting and killing animals. Some of your guests, even if you are in Texas, may be animal rights supporters, vegetarian or staunchly anti-gun. I wouldn’t even dream of using those invitations. Putting all that aside, not sure where there’s any kind of boho vibe.

weddingmaven: I’m actually a vegetarian and it doesn’t bother me. My Fiance and many of our family memers are hunters. We really love the idea of personalizing our wedding to our personalities. You’re only supposed to get married once so why not make it special. Fiance has several friends that had entirely country weddings, camo (suits, cake, decor, veil), cowboy boots, guns, and all. We’re at least not going that route.

LOL… You made me LOL for real. But seriously, these seem perfect for what you are doing. They are not tacky but fit your theme well. I bet your mom is just more traditional. My mom would have said the same thing…
Also – FUN FACT – I actually know “Mama June” and Honey Boo Boo personally…. I knew them well BEFORE TV. They are for sure rough around the edges but super sweet people. A lot of what you see is for TV. 😉

I guess if I had a second choice it would be these:
Simply because maybe they are slightly more elegant and incorporate Navy and gold more. They are made by the same seller as well.

CallMeMrsG: They are one of my favorite families to watch on TV 🙂 I wouldn’t have a camo wedding dress and what not personally, but several of my FI’s friends did lol. They seem like fun people to know!

crisy003: love the “idea” you’re going for but not those invitations. Every “the hunt is over” invite I have ever seen is usually followed with groomsmen in camo and the bride with an orange sash on her dress. Stick to the idea, it’s fabulous, but I would keep looking for something a little different for the invitations.

CallMeMrsG: You do?! I looove them. I think they’re one of the most amazing families on television – they clearly have so much unconditional love for each other, and I love that Mama is saving money for the girls’ education rather than going full Kardashian. I’m glad to hear they are awesome in real life, too!
crisy003: I really like your invitations! I’d go for them.
