I would love to walk down the aisle to the very first part of stair way to heaven, it is the part before they start signing?? What do you think?
Also if i were to use this song what else could i use for the rest of the ceremony so that it all “goes” together??

You can walk down the aisle to anything you want. I don’t see anything wrong with that choice as long as your officiant is ok with it (if you’re getting married in a church, most require you use religious music but otherwise they don’t care). The songs don’t have to “go” with each other either if you have certain songs you love that you want to use.

thanks.. it is an outdoor wedding.. so i dont think it will really matter!

Do you have a reason you’re willing to share about why you want to use that song?
It’s so recognizable that I’m sure your guests will be continuing it in their heads, “there’s a lady who’s sure … all that glitters is gold” — kind of eerie to me. You certainly can use it, and if you care you might want to explain to your guests why you chose it. It really is a beautiful song.

If you and your hubby are both fans and love this idea – go for it!! During the song, some of your guests may notice and wonder…. but 30 seconds later they will have forgotten. go for it!

I say go with it….whatever makes you feel the most special and wonderful on your day is what you should walk down the asile to!

Believe it or not. I’m walking down to an acoustic girl-sung version of Don’t Stop Believin’. The words are odd but I’ve always LOVED the song. It means a lot to my family and has some fantastic memories attached with my fiance and and I and I decided SCREW IT. I don’t care if it’s appropriate. It feels right.
The wedding should suit you. I love that the song will shock people. It kind of sets the tone for the rest of our laid back wedding.
Stairway to Heaven will be playing for my Fiance before I come out. It’ll be fantastic!

I love Led Zeppelin. Any way to incorporate Zeppelin into a wedding is awesome in my book.

I think that is an awesome idea! I’ve actually been contemplating walking down the aisle to the instrumental part of “The Rain Song” by Zepp or an instrumental guitar part of a Jimi Hendrix or Pink Floyd song.

I just listened to it and think it’s an awesome idea.

Sounds good to me! I heart me LZ. I would check with your officant depending on your location. I’ve been trying a way to fit in at least one Queen song, but I don’t think that’s going to fly.
NPR actually just had something on people writing in about weird songs people had heard at weddings. The most weird one I heard was that several people had walked down the aisle to “Here comes the clowns” (but if anyone wants to walk down to that, more power to you) http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=105250727

Thanks so much for all of your input! The reason i picked this song is because i have always been a huge Led Zepplin fan, and I am very much into music( i am a radio dj)
So i will go with it.. The Bridesmaids will walk in with probably a beatles song.. and we will walk down the aisle as husband and wife to another one bites the dust.. i can’t wait..
As for our first song.. totally a surprise.. i am the only one that knows it.. i haven’t told anyone!!

- Wedding: June 2008 - Winery in the Gold Country
If people know it’s one of your faves, I think it will be memorable and a huge hit! Go for it!
