I think it’s cool.  Shows she loves the ring her Darling Husband got her.  Plus, I kinda like the name.

I think it’s sweet… I have names for all kinds of things.. my cars name is Mimi – if I was to ever for some reason choose that name for a future daughter.. it wouldn’t be materialistic.. just a name that I really liked.

I’m kind of in the middle.  I am thinking about how that little girl would react down the line when she says “Mommy how did I get my name?” and your cousin replies “That’s what I call my engagement ring”.  I predict a confused sideways face.  And if she ever inherited it she may feel a certain way.  On the other hand, I could see that she is trying to personify the symbolism of love from her engagment ring into her child, which could be percieved as a sweet sentiment.

Its a nice name, I don’t think it’s tacky or materialistic. More silly then anything.

Eh, it’s not something I’d personally do, but I’ve seen kids named after much stranger things.  I do think the name is very pretty, and I like that it has significance for the couple.

Naming your child after a store’s ring model name? Tacky. I hope her husband doesn’t name their son after his car…

Why does everything have to be criticized and/or reasons questioned? If she likes it and its something she’s decided, why can’t it just be taken at face value? I can’t even see the materialistic side of it anyway, or why such an analogy would even be made. Who would know the origin anyway, unless she was pressed and told them? Geeze. Some people just can’t win.

I think it’s sweet! Since it is a female name already it’s fine in my opinion, it would be a little odd if she named her daughter after Blue Nile or something.

I don’t find it tacky, I just find it silly, especially since the names are pretty ordinary anyway.

At least it’s a normal name?  If I did that, my child would be called Wave Line Sidestone Pink Diamond Ring.  Or Betelgeuse, since that’s what I named the ring.

I think its fine, just sort of odd. Lots of people name their kids weird things and at least Tiffany  isn’t a completely awful name.
