I think you and your Fiance should plan a family outting. If she declines, have him point out to her that it is HER fault she doesn’t know “your people.”

Hmmm family dynamics are always interesting.  I agree though — try to get everyone together ASAP and she’ll have her foot in her mouth before you know it. 🙂

Sounds like my family 😉  I would just let it go.  Ultimately, your extended families will not be spending a lot of time together and you’ve got the rest of your lives to establish relationships.

Keep in mind that Future Mother-In-Law is working through her own issues as the marriage of her son approaches – and it’s likely that this isn’t going to be the end of it.

Do your best to continue to be polite and kind to her… sometimes, that’s all you can do – and it will go a long way.

What I would strongly suggest is throwing an engagement party for the two families – I really wish I did this (since I got the ‘we don’t know his people” from more than just my mom).
