I have an idea, how about we all meet back here in about 20 years and plan the vow renewals together…. maybe WB will have it’s own section for it : )

@mommytobee:

Agreed. YEARS down the line. But I love the idea of having an awesome anniversary bash maybe at the 10 year anniversary or something! πŸ™‚

If we ever do one, it’ll be casual, quiet, and just the two of us, like the wedding I always dreamed of having. Don’t get me wrong, I loved our wedding, and I’m glad Darling Husband talked me into it, but planning was insane, and I do not want to do it ever again. I imagine an intimate vow renewal would be perfect for us if we ever felt the need to have one.

, I’d like to do a vow renewal in 10 years or more…a very very intimate one. I’d like to do the opposite of what we are doing now, which is a big formal winter wedding. For the vow renewal I’d like only a small handful of people in attendance in summer in Santorini. πŸ™‚

We are doing a renewal on our honeymoon, 3 weeks after our wedding. This is because we wanted to elope but went with a small wedding and still want that special just us ceremony. Hopefully we will do it again someday too

We’re not even married yet, and we plan to have a vow renewal as soon as possible πŸ˜€ But that’s because my family is half way around the world and they don’t have enough money to come to our first wedding.. I’d also just love to have a traditional filipino wedding ceremony and my FH is full on board with that πŸ™‚

No. I really don’t see the point.

Yes, we definitely plan on renewing our vows someday. I’d love to do either a beach wedding renewal or go back to Vegas and do a cheesy ceremony with Elvis. I think we will wait anywhere between 15-25 years. Not sure right now.

My grandparents had a vow renewal for their 50th anniversary and all of the grandsons and granddaughters were flower girls and ring bearers.  They had a real reception afterwards, too… I had a lot of funning telling all of the kids in school that I was at my grandparent’s wedding!

A real vow renewal with a party and a pretty dress? Probably 20 or 25 years.

Right now Darling Husband has it in his head that we should do it anytime we go somewhere exotic or different. I’m not really up for that. i think i would like to do it on the big 50 anniversary. i think that would just be so sweet! who knows we might be doing it next summer at the Stugis Rally if Darling Husband gets is way.  however if he dose that i’m making him get me a fancy piece of jewlery so that might change his mind on how often he wants to do it πŸ™‚

I always wanted to go to Vegas for our 5th, get drunk and have Elvis marry us.  I don’t know why b/c honestly, I can’t stand Elvis.  This is obviously not the romantic version.  πŸ™‚

I’m already planning my next wedding in my head.  We will be renewing our vows for our 5th anniversary…my husband just doesn’t know it yet.

I am planning a suprise 35th anniversary party/reception for my parents 35th anniversary right now!  I am not planning a vow renwal though.  My mom has stated that she doesn’t think it is necessary because the vows she took were for life.  Their first wedding was small, and they didn’t have dancing or anything.  So, we are doing this big for them.  Dancing, great food, and friends and family.  I am so excited to be doing this for them!

Planning the wedding nearly killed me, so I don’t think I EVER want to do that again.  That said, my Darling Husband and I plan to go away every year on our anniversary (even if it’s just to a local B & B for a night) and recite our vows to each other.  If we feel so inclined, we may even do a protrait session or have an officiant, but only if we have the money and a good reason to do pictures.  This year, for our first, we are wearing 40’s style clothes (my Darling Husband LOVES that time period, and I like dressing up!) so we may get pictures taken for the fun of it.  Seriously though, simple, and just us!
