I have a chow chow so if the groomer  bathes, brushes out, sani-cuts Kyra without using the muzzle, I tip her. She has never so much as nipped a groomer or vet but chow chows have a bad rep so some groomers just want to muzzle her just in case. I have found a good groomer so I do tip a few dollars.

I always did, except for one time when she butchered her pretty badly and cut off all her hair when I wanted just a trim. If anyone deserves a tip,I think it should be groomers.

I don’t keep cash, and my groomer’s receipts don’t give a spot to leave a tip.  Question answered…lol.  I should take some cash in next time I go to make it up to them.

@Roxy…don’t feel bad. You pay for the service you receive and I think, in this case, tipping is definitely optional. At the place I go, the groomer who actually works with my dog comes out and gets her and takes her back personally. She is assigned to a specific groomer and that is who works with her each time I bring her. For that kind of service…I gladly tip b/c my dog doesn’t do strangers.

My mother is a groomer. I’m pretty sure just about everyone tips her, and I know she gets pretty nice Christmas bonuses from her regular clients. I assume it’s the same as going to get your own hair done. I wouldn’t leave the hairdresser without tipping (unless they did a terrible job).

I have a very well-behaved standard poodle but I still always tip. I also find one groomer that I like and we stick with her until I move on. We get better service that way and I can tell when I pick her up if my dog had a good time or not.

I always tip my cat groomer generously. She is the sweetest, gentlest woman and she does a wonderful job and is so warm and caring towards our cat. I know she doesn’t earn very much money so we tip her well.

I always tipped our groomer – my friend now grooms our dog for free but we cook her dinner and give her $20.  When I would get Roxy groomed at a grooming place she was usually about $40 or $50 and I gave 20%.  Roxy is well behaved but very timid so I know they might have a little problem getting her to be still.
