I use FAM but my temperatures are always all over the place (I rely more on cervical fluid changes to monitor and luckily my cycle is very regular). I think it’s time to try a new thermometer and I was wondering if you guys have any recommendations on brands or types. What do you use?
My temperatures have ranged from 95.1 to 99.5 in the mornings (taken at the same time) and I just don’t think that seems right. They don’t follow a pattern or anything that I can make sense of. Any tips?

I’d be willing to be that’s your thermometer. You’re not drinking coffee or juice before you test it right? Because that can change the temp reading. Also, make sure the little metal tip is making contact with your skin under your tongue (like kinda poking you), if not, it doesnt register that it’s lost contact with your skin but will keep reading your temp and give you a false reading.
I just use the CVS brand thermometer.

I take it first thing in the morning so it seems a new thermometer is in order! Do you have the digital kind of thermometer?

I use a digital BD thermometer. I looked at lots of reviews on Amazon and found one that had a high customer rating and not a lot of beeping.

I just purchased the little plain one from Walmart and it’s been pretty consistent. I already bought a back-up one for when this one dies out.

You can use any type of thermometer (digital is easiest). It doesn’t have to be accurate to 1/100th of a degree, TCOYF says 1/10th is good enough.

I use a walgreens brand one, it’s digital. Sometimes your temp can be affected by sleeping with your mouth open, maybe that’s a factor?
