I wanted to be surprised, and I didn’t even know DH had bought a ring when he proposed (with ring in hand)!

I picked mine, when we decided to get married. And it was way better that way, because even though my fiancé knows my preferences when it comes to jewelry, my finger is 4 3/4 … it is just impossible to find on the market, the smallest ring I tried on was 5 1/2, WHEN they had smaller than 6. So it was a lot easier for me to look at rings, try them on, and know if the embellishments on the side would be annoying after the ring is cut down to the right size.

I wanted my ring and the proposal to be a surprise. My Fiance knows me so well and I knew I’d love whatever he chose.

I picked mine, because I’m particularly clumsy, so I didn’t want anything that was too high, or too big (because I know I’d knock it on something). Also, I wanted something unique and different. So I picked the design, and he still managed to surprise me when he actually proposed! I had no idea he had it purchased. ๐Ÿ™‚

I said other. I want to pick, but he wants to too, so I’m coming to terms with that, lol. Control freak here!

@LindyLu:  I’d also like to send him some photos of style I like then he can pick the ice that goes inside, lol.

I picked mine and I would want to pick it if I had to choose all over again! I have to wear it for the rest of my life, not him. Plus, we had a conversation about how the ring I chose he NEVER would have picked for me and he would have picked something I most likely would not have enjoyed as much. For example, he loves round cut stones where I really…really dont. I know I would have ended up with a round stone if he had chosen. Granted, I am sure it would have been a lovely ring, it just wouldn’t have been ‘me’, you know?

I answered other because I always thought that I wanted to be surprised, but when Fiance went ring shopping, he really wanted me to go with him. We picked a lovely ring together, and I can’t imagine wearing what he was planning on surprising me with (plain solitaires do not look good on stubby, fat fingers at all)

I want to pick mine as Iam heavy handed and clumsy and so my painted nails get chipped after a day etc… as I like the plain,s olid type of bandwithout a stone that protrudes too much.  Plus SO has mentioned that he thinks the lady should choose as they will be wearing it.

I’m the one wearing it so I wanted to pick! After all I have to wear it every day… I wouldn’t want an awkward reminder on my finger that Fiance isn’t that great with fashion. Not to say anything bad about him but he frequently asks me to pick out outfits for him so he doesnt have to worry about it ๐Ÿ™‚

I honestly can’t decide! Basically, I want him to see something and fall in love with it, so he can surprise me, but I want him to pick something exactly to my taste!

But yes, I’d like it all to be a surprise so I want him to pick it out.

DH picked mine and surprised me. it wasnt what I probably would have picked out for myself then but I grew to love it and I trurly do love it. If we ever upgrade, I would want that same setting just with upgraded metal and stones. it’s perfect for me, even if I didn’t think it was in the beginning.

I dropped lots of hints of styles etc. I never once went with him. He picked it out in the end and did amazing. I was surprised!
