Yep! I’m wearing my stand in while my jeweler changes the basket on my ring. I want my wedding band to sit flush, and the basket wouldn’t allow it (FH asked for it and the jeweler misunderstood, so I have to be without it for a bit!). He is making my wedding band right now, so I am very excited to pick them up together soon!

I actually wear a placeholder ring to work because I worry that something will snag on my e-ring. It’s a white sapphire ring and its like a simple version of my e-ring.

My fiancé is taking my ring to get appraised next Tuesday (I can’t go due to work and class) and I’m dreading being without it for the day! I don’t really have a ring that I’d like to use as a stand-in, but I do want one for that purpose. I’d also like to get my ring resized at some point because now that it’s cold out, my fingers have shrunken considerably and it spins entirely too much. It could have fit a little more snug even when it was warmer out, so I’d like it just a tad bit smaller. I’d like a stand-in for that when the time comes. My friend always wore her promise ring when she had work done on her engagement ring, but we didn’t go that route so I don’t have one.

I don’t wear a place holder ring. I wear my rings all the time other than at work where it is an infectious disease hazard.

If my ring were to need repair etc, I still wouldn’t. Why would I care if strangers saw me without a ring? I know that I am married and that’s all that counts.

I have a channel set diamond and saphire band that Darling Husband gave me before we got engaged I used to wear that if I had to send my e-ring in to get work done

I do not and will not.  My instinct was to wear one, but my husband totally changed my mind.  I asked him if he might like to get a Qalo ring to stand in for his wedding band since he is very active, and he said no because it wouldn’t be his wedding band.  Lightbulb!  So I will never wear a stand in ring because it’s not my wedding band!

I don’t wear anything in place of my ring.

I wear my promise ring if I’m doing something where I don’t want to wear my e-ring.

I do, but only because before getting engaged I always wore a birthstone ring my mother gave me. I absolutely love it but it only fits my left ring finger, so when I don’t have my ering I take the opportunity to wear my old ring!

mrsl2be:  I bought a simple sterling silver as a placeholder until my original set was returned to me.

mrsl2be:  No, I don’t. I wanted to but fiance said I should reserve that finger for when the e-ring is back. I sent it in for a new setting as well and missing it tremendously.

I wear a stand-in ring when I am having my ring repaired. My finger just feels weird without a ring on it and I need sparkle in my life.

Sure do! I also always wear my wedding band. It never comes off.. so I guess that’s my stand in ring too 🙂 I don’t wear my ering around the house a lot because I don’t want to damage it washing dishes, cleaning, etc.
