sboom :  Right?! It feels less like drudgery when your ring turns into a disco ball with more and more sparkle with every dish!

Now we need someone to do a “Rings and Dish Bubbles” thread.

I barely wear it while I’m home and I don’t wear it when I go to the gym.  But most of the time when I am out of the house I have it on.

I’ve been engaged about a month (so it’s all still pretty new!). Initially I would take it off to shower, sleep, clean, wash my hands, basically everything. However now I only take it off when I go to sleep. I think with time, I’ll probably stop doing that too. It now feels weird not to have it on! And it’s always a lovely reminder when I look down and see it on my finger 🙂

Yes and no. Currently I mostly don’t wear my ring because my baby still slams her head into it when she tantrums and I don’t want to hurt her.

But normally my personal rules are wear it through everything except heavy lifting of any kind. So no moving furniture or heavy boxes or wearing it at the gym. Degloving is also a real thing and terrifies me. Don’t look at pictures. Its gross.

Everything else I normally wear it through. This means light cleaning, showering, sleeping. I also wear gloves while I cook and do the light cleaning. I have it inspected about every 3 months too since it’s not being super super babied. Only a little.

I wear mines most of the times. I wear it to work everyday, and when I get home, I don’t take it off until is time to get ready to go to bed. So I make dinner and do the dishes with my ring on. The days I’m off, I don’t wear it around the house because I’m usually doing chores.

I don’t wear it at home, I took it off when I get home and put it again when I leave. I don’t wear it to gym either, I see a lot of people do that anyway

i do not wear it all the time.  i don’t wear it much around the house, as i don’t like to wear it while i’m cooking, cleaning, or gardening, and i don’t wear it (or any jewelry) when i’m just lounging around in pajamas.  i don’t wear it when working out either.  so i basically wear it to work or when i am fully dressed and heading out of the house.

I wear mine all the time, unless doing something messy.  But, we bought a ring with a value I am comfor table with wearing,  losing and can replace if need be. We are both very active and work with our hands all the time. I have had no issues. The only issue I have is when I’m motorcycling it can be uncomfortable in tight leather gloves.

Unless I’m doing something particularly grungy or where I’m concerned about things getting in the pave band (ie baking, certain heavy-duty cleaning jobs, etc), I rarely take it off except to clean it.

peach11 :  I take mine off to clean, shower, and sleep. Sometimes, particularly on the weekends, I end up not wearing it at all because I’m busy cooking and cleaning – no point to put it on for a 5 minute run to the store just to take it off again when I get home. I chose a wedding band without stones though so that I didn’t have to baby it – my band never leaves my finger.

It’s really up to you. I wear mine to sleep and often shower in. How is showering really that different from washing your hands? What’s most likely to get on it is soap and water. I also (deliberately) have a very secure design with no pave or small stones.
I take it off for things I feel may damage it, but keep in mind engagement rings are designed to be worn, so just get it checked out every year and try not to freak yourself out too much over it

peach11 :  I felt the same way for a bit after I got my ring. I think a lot of it had to do with the fact that I wasn’t used to wearing any rings even before. Now, I can’t not wear it- i feel funny without it. I will say I remove it for bed about 90% of the time, and I don’t typically wear it in the shower, and NEVER in the ocean. I also will remove it for cleaning and cooking.

I do, but I choose my rings specificly to be worn all the time. The only exception is handling raw meat.
