my coworkers have commented on how “HUGE” my ring is… I used to get really embarrased or self conscious about it, but now I got over it…

I wear my ring everyday! I don’t care what other say, after Fiance spent so much time and energy designing it himself (plus all the money he spent on it), I don’t want to let it sit in the safe not seeing the light of the day!

Here’s my ring! Not shy to share it either now haha…

I “work” from home (or at least did before the company got off the ground), so yes, always (as I say now wearing my new ring that I just got about two hours ago!)!

My center stone is a bit under 4 ct’s and I wear mine every day. I would feel weird not wearing it, and i’m actually more uncomfortable leaving it in our apartment! I like knowing where it is! Sometimes I see people get fixated on it and stare, but I just make a joke and laugh it off!

My ring is large and yes, I do get embarrassed sometimes when people remark on it but I’m tired of shying away. It’s my ring and I’m going to wear it and grimace through the comments if need be.

@MrsBluth:  I don’t think you’re crazy, you have to do what feels right to you in your circumstances but it seems a shame that your beautiful ring isn’t getting worn more often!

The first few weeks after getting my ring, I also felt quite embarassed wearing it.  It’s very sparkly and seems to attract a lot of attention that I wasn’t used to.  I’m over it now, I wear it everywhere proudly 🙂

@MrsBluth:  You should rock that rock! Then you can say things like “That’s how we joke… she doesn’t even have a house!” Haha! I’m obviously kidding about that last part, but you should be proud of your bling. 🙂

The only reason I personally wouldn’t wear a large ring to work is because for me it would get in the way, which is why I wanted something small/low profile to begin with for my ring.

But if I had a larger ring, I would wear it to work if the only thing stopping me was how other people would react to it…cause that wouldn’t stop me! 🙂

I’ve got a 1.5 carat solitaire also & I always wear it to work. I would feel weird without it. You really should wear yours…I think it’s silly that you dont. Just like the other said, it’s the same as not wearing it bc you’re embarrassed that it’s too small. If you’re that uncomfortable with it then see if you can take it back to the jeweler & get a 1 carat but have it be as colorless & flawless as the amount spent on the other one.

Destination Wedding has a large-ish ring (2.5 tcw) and she wears it to work in academia (gasp!) where these things are shunned! Muhahaha.

@MrsBluth:  aw that’s a shame that you’re embarrased to wear your ring. I just got engaged with a 2 carat and I had a breif moment where I was embarrassed about the size when people commented on it, but I got over it. My Fiance wanted me to have it and so I rock it proudly. You should too!

I have a 1 carat ring which on these boards is normal, but in my area is large. I wear it and DGAF if anyone has something to say.

Mine is not huge, a relatively normal size for around here, and I usually wear it, but not in certain situations, like when I’m making an important presentation.

It’s very active and scintillating, which was very intentionally chosen by Fiance and me (the cut, the clarity, for maximum liveliness) and is usually awesome, but not a professional look. I know people (men epecially) would take me less seriously if I’m throwing sparkles with my hand movements when trying to convince them of major business decisions. Imagine Donald Trump with a tiara. I’m not nearly Donald and it’s not nearly a tiara, but it wouldn’t help him, and it wouldn’t help me either. Sometimes it’s important to show people that you can be extremely professional. This is one of the reasons why a gold wedding band will be perfect for me. It is never out of place in any situation, and everyone knows what it means.

@jessicadarling:  I spend the majority of my Thursdays with my hands in blood. That’s what gloves are for! I never take my ring off, even at work 🙂
