I wear my ring every day to work. If I didn’t, I would be worried about it sitting at home all day unattended and it would be inconvenient to drop by the bank to go to the safe deposit box on a regular basis.

I always did, and a lot of people used to ask what my husband did for work! Which I always liked, because I love bragging about my awesome DH!

I wear my 2.6 cts everyday and no one even notices. Or if they do they never say anything.

@FutureDrAtkins:  you smartly got yours made super low profile though! Mine sits pretty high up.. Pretty sure I’d tear holes in a LOT of gloves.

I think it depends on your field and the environment you’re in. If you are working with people who have financial limiatations — say a non profit, etc. I totally get why you’d be uncomfortable.

I wear mine proudly! Mine’s a bit smaller than yours (1.33 carats plus halo), and I get plenty of comments.. but only good ones so far. Screw what other people think. We spent a lot on this thing and I will wear it, dammit!

With that said, I work in an office environment where a lot of people earn even more than I do… so it’s not like I’m going to ruffle anyone’s feathers.

I have a 1.5 ct with additional stones on the halo and band. My ring doesn’t seem all that big to me. I remember being hesitant to wear it at work because when its clean man its shiny amd distracting. This ring sparkles.

@joya_aspera:  I wonder if Ivanka wears her bling when she gives business presentations!

That’s an interesting point you make. I wear my ring hoping that people will stare at all the sparkles and focus less on me so I will be less nervous hahaha 😉

@jessicadarling:  Ah yeah :/ I forgot, my old rings used to break my gloves all the time. No bueno. I got synovial fluid inside my glove once and it ran down my arm. Freaking disgusting.

I’m a hairdresser the only reason I don’t wear my actual set to work is bc I don’t want to lose them and I don’t like hair being in my rings. But other than that!

@FutureDrAtkins:  I’m going into the medical field too… probably won’t be wearing my ering once I get engaged. I’m not engaged yet, but I work in a lab and my nails have cut through the gloves, even though they’re not long (I try to keep them around fingertip length) or super strong (my nails break 🙁 ), so I personally don’t have much faith in gloves. Good to hear that you don’t have any problems with gloves breaking, FutureDrAtkins!

I’ve seen a ton of nurses wearing rings around the hospital, though. I’d say that basically all of them do, and the rings don’t necessarily sit low either.
