The worst part? It was cold. I was cutting open a cow leg that I was keeping in the fridge for a few hours so it wouldn’t decompose. This is what researchers do for you guys!! So if you ever get arthritis I don’t want any complaining about “no one cares about me.” or “my medicine is too expensive.” LOL jk.
The post prongs are THE WORST for breaking through gloves. Avoid post prongs at all costs – claw prongs or bezels are the best for gloves. Brand helps too. The Knight brand of gloves is *the best* … plus they come in black, so you pretty much look like a badass all day at work and other researchers are jealous of how cool your gloves are.

I have a 1.75ct princess solitaire and diamond wedding band and I wear it to work everyday. In fact, DH gets upset when I don’t wear them! I’m a high school science teacher so it’s not like I have a job working construction.
I feel safer having them on me then leaving them at home.

@MrsBluth: I don’t know if mine is large, but I wear it to work. 🙂 I’ve tried not, but then I just miss it. I get compliments, but they make me smile. WEAR THAT ROCK GIRL!!!

people have made comments about my ring, as it considered bigger where I work/live…mostly people are surprised at the sparkly-ness…cudos to hubby for picking a great rock
i love my set and wear it all the time!

Hell ya I wear mine to work! I always figure if people don’t like it they don’t have to look at it.

I’m not engaged quite yet but I will absolutely wear mine to work! The only time I wouldn’t is if I worked in a field that would be hard on the ring. Mine’s really not THAT big but it’s decent IMO just big enough (and colorful enough!) to be noticed =)

I wear my ring to work every single day, and my dentist did comment once that he has no idea how I get my gloves over it without ripping them. 😀 It isn’t terribly large, around 7.5mm, in a low set 6 prong solitaire.
Now, when I have my 5 stone ring with a 2.5ct center, *that* might be a “not at work” ring. Maybe. We’ll see. 😉

Nope. Unless I’m guaranteed to not be seeing any clients or stepping into a courthouse I am only going to wear a plain band and possibly a very modest eternity band.

I work in insurance and financial services so I have no reason to hide my ring. In fact appearing prosperous is a GOOD thing I’d say. But if I were in a field wearing gloves, working at a non profit or something along those lines I’d just wear a band.
