I’m not the kind of girl who wore a whole lot of jewlery before getting engaged, and am not sure the proper etiquette with regard to taking your fine jewelry off. I feel most comfortable just putting my ring on and not taking it off, but that will damage it won’t it?

I never take mine off unless Darling Husband is cleaning it.

I used to take my engagement ring off in the shower, cleaning, etc. I noticed during an entire week of being married that I haven’t bothered to remove both rings. Everything feels a lot more secure now so I’m not fearing my rings falling off. I always kept my engagement ring on throughout the night.

I take it off at night because it is a cathedral setting and can poke or scratch me or him when we’re cuddling and I take it off in the shower because my finger is a size 5 and I’m so worried that it will slide off with shampoo/conditioner or soap and go down the drain foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I take mine off at night because I realized the first couple of nights of being engaged that my finger swells overnight. I was waking up the next morning and could barely remove it from my finger. It was no fun! I take it off in the shower because I am scared it will fall off. hehe 🙂

I always take mine off if I’m going to be doing something messy or where I could get my rings caught (dangerous to fingers!)
I also don’t sleep with them because my hands tend to swell a little bit over night and it’s uncomfortable to have jewelry on.

I take my ring off in the shower. I cannot risk losing it down the drain. That is a serious nightmare of mine. I know this happens to a lot of women (if not all) that when my finger/ring gets wet it loosens it’s grip on my finger, now add soap and shampoo to that mixture and it could fall off! One time I did wear it in the shower and it began to slip off, luckily I caught it just before it did.
Other then that I wear my ring all the time. ^_^

I take mine off when cleaning, showering, sleeping and putting on lotion. I have a pave band so I don’t like getting gunk in it because it’s a pain to clean. I take mine off at night because I don’t like sleeping with any jewelry on. Plus the few times i did sleep with it I’m pretty sure I scratched Darling Husband in my sleep.

My cousin lost her engagement ring in the shower, so I’m too paranoid to wear mine where it might slip and fall!
I usually take mine off to sleep, just for good measure, but sometimes I can’t bear to. 🙂

I always wear mine 🙂 I see it as, I can always get it cleaned and re-dipped as I need to 🙂 The only time I take it off is when I’m putting on lotion or getting a manicure or something.

I only take it off when I shower, wash the dishes and get my hands dirty. Otherwise, it stays on!

I take it off when I sleep, shower, wash my hands, or think I’ll get them dirty. But I just got my ring so I’m being really careful, I have a morganite and it’s not the most durable stone so I want to protect it.

I take it off when I sleep, shower, get mani and sometimes when I was my hands – I feel like i can’t properly wash my hands with my ring on sometime (perhaps a little OCD)

I used to leave it on for almost everything except gardening, painting, or messy food projects (bread dough for example)…but now that it’s getting cold it’s always loose, so I take it off much more often. Definitely in the shower and usually before bed.

I only take mine off to work out, clean, or anything else that might make it really gross, like give the dog a bath 🙂
