I wear it because I’d rather just keep it on than leave it my car or a locker (which I don’t really use anyway). Mostly I just do cardio machines, running, or lifting weights (not free weights). I haven’t had any issues except sweat underneath it which makes it spin a little bit. I go straight to the gym after work though. If I was at home and then going to the gym, I would just leave it at home probably.

If I’m lifting weights, no I will not wear it. If I’m doing a spin class or something else cardio related then yes I do wear it.

I wear mine. But I also don’t do much lifting. When I do my weights are coated so it’s not metal on metal.

You should always take your ring off before going to the gym. Weights and many of the machines can not only scratch your band but chip the stones as well. Putting pressure on your hands as you do in yoga or pilates can deform the band or prongs (either of which could lead to losing stones). Your hands getting sweaty could increase the chance of the rings slipping off. I just leave mine in my purse in the locker (or better yet, at home).

I leave it on at the gym because it doesn’t bother my finger or workout. I do weights at home, though, and I’ll take it off to use my gloves.

I virtually never take mine off. That said, there’s a few things that irritate my hand, so I take it off for them. Some weights and such pinch. Occasionally I take it off for curling, because it starts to blister, but most of the time it’s fine.

I don’t, I’m paranoid like you! The only time I’ll wear it while at the gym is if I go there straight from work and couldn’t leave it safely at home in my jewelery box. I’d rather wear it and have it with me than leave it in a locker and risk it being stolen.

Lately all I do is swim and I use a stainless streel stand-in.

I’ll leave it on if I only plan on doing cardio.. anything that involves me holding weights, using my hands, or throwing stuff, I leave it at home

I wear my ring during yoga classes (it gets a little uncomfortable sometimes in my hot classes) but I wouldn’t dream of wearing it during kettlebells, muay thai, or my personal training sessions. Swinging a kettlebell while wearing my ring could distort it, and I am not about to let that happen!
Plus, if you injure your hand or finger while lifting/boxing/grappling, etc., and your fingers swell, that puppy is getting cut off… or worse…yikes!

Ha, as if I go to the gym. If I did though I would probably just leave it at home. I see no reason to be wearing my nice diamond jewelry while sweating buckets and panting like a dog on a treadmill.

@BlondeBee: ouch never thought of that!
I think im going to continue not to wear it unless im doing a spin class or something that doesnt require me using my hands. These comments only made me want to be more cautious (in a good way)! Thanks for the input!

I always wear mine……in fact my favorite passtime on the treadmill is to look at other ladies’ rings!

I picked other, simply because this won’t be an “issue” for a while, but I’d plan on switching out to a plain band if I’m engaged or just wearing my wedding band when married. Then again, I will probably have a gemstone ring (I think it’s an aquamarine center, with topaz on the sides), so it’ll be more prone to damage by default.

Other? I don’t go to the gym.
I don’t like being lined up at machines. I like to be outside.
