    My parents have been married nearly 40 years, and my dad still calls his Mother-In-Law “Mrs. Smith”.  Like, they aren’t on a first name basis after all that time.  My Fiance calls my dad “Mr. Jack” or “father in law”.  

    I will never call FI’s mom “mom”.  I also find it really weird, and she is not my mom.

    Some times I would call my mil mom. It wasn’t a regular thing. I did it more after my husband let her see a text from me that said “how was mom today” . He said she seemed to be flattered that I had called her that. She would call me “daughter”  too. We were very close.
