No, I don't think anyone needs to worry about that - the world wide web is a big place!

Yes, I am careful not to make myself recognisable on here

Yes, they might recognise me because of my posts but I don't care!

Nope, not worried. I don’t have much drama and if I did I would directly address it with the other person. I also have a lot of friends I can vent to so I never do it on here. Honestly most of the venting threads become a shitshow anyway……

I have never worried about it. My mother had some good advise that I’ve always adhered to: never put anything in writing that you wouldn’t want to see on the front page of the New York Times.

well, I did randomly see a wedding recap of someone I know in real life (and then, like the web stalker I am, I looked at all of her posts), however, if you are not posting pictures or other details that could give you away (ie, your real name, along with where you live, your wedding date, etc), people shouldn’t be able to put the pieces together

It’s amazing what you can find on google. When I post, I try to do it in a way that is not too revealing (e. g. no person pictures, etc). If someone I knew did figure me out, I don’t think I’ve said anything too drama-y about my personal life.

flossy.lou:  I don’t personally worry, as I am not close to my family, and if they did see something, I wouldn’t give a damn. And I’m the first of my friends to get engaged, so I doubt they are hanging out on wedding forums. I also don’t post about my family/personal drama on the internet, especially here where opinions are vastly different and conflicting. Though, I will admit that I secretly love some of the drama that happens, and even show my Fiance and we have a good laugh together.

warriorprincess:  lmao! I do the same. I see some threads and I’m like “this will be good.” Others I just don’t believe at all.

tksjewelry:  I would argue that *is* worrying about it.  That’s why I do.  I just don’t post anything I wouldn’t want anyone I know to see.  So, I don’t worry that they will, like you, because I wouldn’t care.  But I do think about what I write. 🙂

Omg, I’ve wondered about this too when I’ve seen someone majorly complaining about someone, and their avatar is of their (I’m assuming) actual face. I don’t use this handle anywhere else online, so I feel free to go nuts and type whatever I feel like. But for those resusing their handles from other sites/using their real names/real photos…eek! I hope they know that others they know in real life might stumble upon their posts!!

I work in social media, and my advice to anyone is always, “Never post anything on the Internet you’d be embarrassed for your grandma to see plastered on a billboard”

I found a site my SO was on (something related to his hobby) by googling his email address. So since that time, I’ve been very careful. I’m not linked to my real email address and I don’t post anything too specific.  So, yes im careful, but I guess for that reason, I don’t worry.

flossy.lou:  I just wait for the bi**hy bridesmaid/bride someone is complaining about to just comment like, “So and so, can you call me.” Lol

I don’t worry that much because if it was a friend that found something I posted on here and connected it to me it would be because I told them lol. And if it was a situation I was concerned about, I’d be like “oh good, now I don’t have to figure out how to tell you!” 😛 I don’t get explicit (names, pictures).

I’m sure maybe I already have been found out. But I don’t care! All my posts have been nothing I haven’t already shared in the real world. Really, if people have nothing better to do than stalk and ‘find out things about me’, well, good for them.
