When we had roommates, we used their dishes and cups and it was all mismatched. And it was all plastic Rudys or A&M stadium  cups. The day they moved out, I went to Macy’s and bought one big dish set, and we have two cup sets. I refuse to let any plastic dishware in kitchen ever again! Lol

socalgirl1689 :  We don’t have the large matching bowls for serving. Most often if we have company I use the good china.

We’ve got a matching set we use when we have people over.. But I loooove mix matched dishes! I use mix matched dishes when my family comes around, Dads a bit of a collector so I think that’s where it came from!

Ive got about 30 mugs in my kitchen, all different 😳

I had three partial sets for years. They started out as full sets and I lost pieces over time. It drove me crazy enough that I sent them all to Goodwill last year and bought a new set (actually two of the same set). now I have exactly 8 plates, 8 bowls etc… and I can call the dishes down out of the kids’ rooms at a glance.

I collect Spode dishes. I have the plates and coffee mugs, but am still trying to find the cereal and serving bowls. The nice thing is the company has been around for forever, so I can find the dishes at antique stores and thrift sales too.

We have two sets of the same IKEA dishes. One black and one green. Our glasses are all mismatched random beer glasses we’ve acquired from bars. My serving dishes are mostly random, though some came from sets.

Yes, my everyday set is from Crate and Barrel. It’s the Moderno glass dinnerware (dinner plates, salad plates, 2 sizes of bowls, and mugs). Very simple and goes with everything!

socalgirl1689 :  We have both now after the wedding. We have one set of white and another set of blue…in addition to the random stuff we got when we first moved in together.
