I’ve gone twice, and didn’t find that it hurt my ears at all. There might have been a bit of pressure from what I remember, but I didn’t feel any pain. The thing that I remember most is that you have to keep you head up to avoid gulping in all the air.. it’s important to be able to breathe correctly haha. I have photos on my biography… and you can pm me if you want to see my youtube video 🙂

I want to sky dive before my next decade b’day – so I’m interested in hearing what people have to say about their experience!

@Mrs.H2B:  I’m guessing since you did it twice you enjoyed it?  Any other pointers? (wouldn’t have even thought about the gulping air thing!)

I’ve gone twice. The first time I didn’t have any ear problems. The second time I thought I was over a sinus infection, but I wasn’t, and that caused some problem. But, to be fair, my entire head was super congested, and I probably should have been smarter and not done it. Although, it didn’t really hurt, I just couldn’t hear for about 6 hours.

and I should say, I also usually have really bad airplane pressure pain. But I didn’t experience that when skydiving (when healthy)

I’ve skydived and LOVED it!  And it didn’t hurt my ears a bit!

@jillmatt:  Same here! Plently of airplane ear pain, none at all skydiving.

Nope, no ear pain with skydiving. Honestly, the most uncomfortable part was the ride up in the plane because there were quite a few people jammed into such a small space.

I’ve been skydiving, and honestly it hurts my ears more to be on a commercial flight than when I went skydiving.  If you get a chance to jump out of a plane I say GO FOR IT!  I’d totally go again, it was an amazing experience 🙂

@Mrs.H2B:  I did the air gulping thing… actually it was more like I jumped out and my face went Surprised and I couldn’t breathe AT ALL (in OR out) for the duration of my free fall.  I remember being very rational, like “yeah, the free fall will probably be less than a minute, and I’m pretty confident that I can hold my breath that long without passing out, so yea, I’ll be ok” and didn’t panic at all!  When the chute deployed I had the biggest inhale EVER!

I never had any problems with my ears either.  You can also just swallow to equalize your ears.

Honestly, skydiving was the scariest and most exciting thing I have ever done.  What a rush!
